In Delhi its still 13K as well. No one has even heard about diamond chains. Anyone got a whiff of the Benelli's future plans? My pal went to the benelli showroom over the weekend and noticed that there were no display bikes and showroom wore gloomy look. How are things down south? are they abandoning ship?

The showroom manager had told me that DSK and Benelli are parting ways and Benelli will be directly involved... He also told that this will be only sorted out at the end of the month and vehicles will be despatched from factory only after that..... The next batch here is expected by mid April...

As Binil observed, dealers will be stuck with old stock of chains, so probably they are trying to off load those.... Maybe you should contact the Kochi dealership and find out if they can send you the chain by courier...

Dealer can not do anything other than selling and servicing after that. For him to sell, some one has to manufacture it. Presently DSK is manufacturing it. Hopefully going forward either DSK or Benelli will do it (one more option is Benelli have to tie with some one else).
                Need to wait and see
Dealer can't do any thing of his own

All thanks to quick inputs and images courtesy from older posts of Binil and Shashank (Madras Motorhead) .. I finally ordered Puig Rafale Windscreen earlier today. Had almost made my mind to go for the Aliexpress one, but was skeptical about the plastic quality and long waiting time.

I made couple of queries.. and rather than going to Amazon global or any other website, I talked to Ultimate Auto Impex in Mumbai and wired them the amount (INR 11.5k) and would receive the screen in next 2-3 days.. Hoping to take first 200+ kms long ride on coming weekend.

The best part of journeys are the stops you take in between.

I had checked the price of this in amazon US...while the item is only $ 116 ( app 7500) the shipping and import is prohibitive and the landed is showing as 20K. I am trying to get it through my friends in UK...Willing to wait a few months..

I came across this site, www.caferacer.co.in , they have a sale on Kevlar jeans for riders...

Does anyone here has experienced active ABS on their TNT's ?

Couple of days back i went for a short ride, and while i was on way back, ABS signal in cluster was continuously blinking, but i don't remember braking hard or at fast speeds during that ride.

                        Still wondering what it meant.

Yes the price post import is very high. I got it delivered to UK and it was hand carried to Kerala.

Auto Impex is one of the dealers in India. and that is the correct India price. Hope you got the metal mounts for the rod that fixes on the handle bars.
                            i don't have a carbon footprint, i ride everywhere !

Lots happened in the past week. I had called the showroom again for the new price and availability. They said the new stock will come only end April. And it could be 1st week of May also. The reason is the seperation of DSK and until that is completed no stock will be sent. Showroom manager is saying Benelli will deal directly.

Since getting the bike is getting delayed and if it comes only in May, I can hardly enjoy the bike a few weeks as in June the rains will come in Kochi. So I started looking for options and by coincidence there was this 600i in Olx for sale. It was in Trivandrum about 220 kms from my town. I put a fair figure and the guy agreed to my surprise. Then I called him up and he said he is disposing it because he is finding it difficult to ride as he is not very tall and he is going for Z900. Not believing the whole story and since I wanted to see the bike, ride it to make sure I can handle it and also that my wife will be comfortable in the pillion we went drove down.

The bike was absolutely scratchless, except for some marks on the grabrail, which had happened as he had tied his bag there for a trip. I took her for a ride. I was very nervous due to the size and weight, unsure whether I can handle it. But about 200 mts into the ride all my fears vanished. She was a breeze on the move ! You just dont feel you are driving a 230 kg bike. Then I took my wife on the pillion and she just loved the back seat and the suspension.

The bike had just run 3500 kms and finished the first service and he was going to give it for the second one this week. As I wanted to take the service package, I asked him to bring the bike to Kochi and not to do the service there...I was not confident of driving 4 hours in a higher cc class bike. We finalised the deal , a lakh down from the showroom price....and he actually drove it down to Kochi yesterday ! ! Gave it for service and took delivery in the evening.

Unfortunately I got out of office late and from the service center, and hit peak bumper to bumper traffic...The bike does get hot, but not uncomfortable....but man, was it difficult..somehow got it to my flat. I thought maybe I made a mistake taking this bike..but then my wife said, we took it for touring, not to ride in city and lets take it to the temple early morning....

And today morning 7 am , what a drive on the empty roads ! ! I forgot all about yesterdays struggle...She is a gem on open roads..this is a pure long distance bike...Solid, seamless power delivery ( I am not a fan of neck jolting acceleration anyway), well balanced, excellent front brakes ( back ones are a disappointment)...pulls from as low as 20 km of 5th gear...

Its a matter getting used to the dynamics of big bike....I know I really streched my budget ( my actual budget was only 4, which itself was stretch !)....but my wife chipped in also saying " its now or never!"...So I guess once in a lifetime we are allowed to go crazy and indulge ourselves

I will be following this thread though...
