I read your blog. Very interesting. only reason I'm not considering Benelli bikes are due to their weight - The 300 is as heavy as my Thunderbird 500! Even the FE is almost the same
The other thing of course, is the short service intervals. I was considering the 600i but the 234KG weight put me off; too tiring to drive that around.

The only thing I LOVE about this bike , Other than the sound, is the weight. The confidence it gives you at high speeds is soothing and affirming. It holds the road excellently at speeds above 100. You will embrace it once you experience it.
Being on two wheels is being liberated. The vastness one feels being under the open sky. The whole feeling. . . cant be described.

      Ride safe, Ride long.

I second that. The weight adds to the character of this bike. The stability and confidence it gives at high speeds is mind blowing.

Good for you I find it terribly inconvenient even on my TB500 when I have a pillion. Pottering about the city is a major pain. Sadly, I cannot afford one bike for the city and one for the highways

Honestly, the TB and T3 are poles apart in handling. On the T3 you would not know the weight when moving, even in stop and go traffic. It's very well balanced and behaves very well at high speeds. I have had a TB for some time. It just didn't go where i wanted it to go :P .

Completely agree..the bike's weight looks intimidating but its surprisingly nimble in traffic..i go to office through some of the worst traffic of mumbai and there are no handling problems whatsoever and i'm no body builder..even in stop start traffic i've noticed i dont really have to put down my feet that often..the balance is great..

T300 is very much centralised and you won't feel the weight in the traffic. I am 'very' short (158 cm and 57Kg :-P) and I didn't face any issue so far related to managing the bike. I have completed around 12.5K which inclusive of 25KM daily Bangalore traffic.

As Binil pointed out, the main problem is short service interval and relatively high-cost ownership.

And lack of ABS (doesn't matter if the brakes have bite, etc. but for a 4 lakh bike, lack of ABS is a deal-breaker)

Honestly, ABS (lack or the need for it is debatable). I am actually happy that this bike doesn't have ABS. Having ridden for long I feel ABS is more intrusive than helpful. ABS is good to have. ABS functionality is very useful however, for new riders. Specially in panic situation. For T3, the Pirelli's, the weight and handling dynamics, never really gave the impression that ABS is needed. The front dual disc do an awesome job of stopping and very much in control. The Angel ST are actually difficult to skid on. The grip is really good. I am sure all other owners would second my thoughts.

And 4 lakhs :O ... where ? I think Bangalore is the highest and is around 3.75 lakhs. Has the price changed ?

Hi Binil could you help me with the contact no of paddock stand supplier in Mumbai. Also suggest any economical way to clean the chain, as I am using up the Motul 400 ml can in a single use only, that's too expensive for cleaning a single time.

I use diesel or kerosene n wash it with shampoo after cleaning, yes the cleaners are pretty expensive and not pocket friendly..

                                Gaurav - 8976413804 for Paddocks

I use diesel or kerosene to clean. Spray it on or soak chain with a rug. Leave it for 10/15 mins and water wash it to sparkling clean.
Ride it for few kms to heat up the chain and lose the water. Lube it with your choice of chain lube. Leave for 30 mins atleast before use.

I use Tribocor SuperLube TC 205. This is a little messy and will spray on to your alloys, but lasts longer 800 - 1000kms depending on usage and riding conditions.

New variant : TC 212 Tribocor is available now. This does not splatter all over the place and is paraffin based. lasts longer as it is water resistant.
