Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Hi Guys , I am Ashok from chennai and am planning to buy the 300 in the near future, I mostly use cars for my commute to office and enjoy the two wheelers during weekends. I owned a CL500 which i sold recently to due quality issues. Test rode the 300 and connected to it almost immediately as i used to ride the RD350 during my twenties. The only thing that is bothering me is the repeat of quality issues which might put me off. I have a busy schedule and i am not interested running behind the SVC( just like my CL500) instead of enjoying my ride in the weekends, please advice. Is the bike reliable between services and does the SVC do a good job fixing issues without multiple visits. how is the Chennai SVC?,

Take some time and Go through few pages back and you will get most of the answers.
Quality of parts are ok.
My firend owning TNT is always worried about owenership cost as parts and service cost are way expensive.
He recently chaged chain and sproket costing more than 10K.

Hey Ashok, Being an ex-Benelli owner. I will put my honest thoughts, not to scare you or anything. Just my experience with the Bike and the company.Originally posted by Ashokp View PostHi Guys , I am Ashok from chennai and am planning to buy the 300 in the near future, I mostly use cars for my commute to office and enjoy the two wheelers during weekends. I had a 600cc, I instantly fell in love when I test rode the bike and I went sucker for the Inline 4 snarl it created, Should I say, I was KO ed immediately and booked it. Ownership wise I had a great time with it. Felt celebrity like feel as strangers come and talk, take photos.
During last year Chennai floods, my bike got completely submerged in water and then onwards it has been a bitter experience for me with respect to parts and SVC. SVC costs you a bomb, they charge at least 2-3k for labor and rest for the consumables, which bills upto 7-8k (Not sure how much for a 300, but definitely not far off). Spares are super-expensive and takes ages to arrive. You will start to loose your patience.
Off late, from our biking group people who owns a 300 or TNT 25 has been complaining about quick wear and tear of Brake pads, Chain sprocket etc. SVC quality is good, it is the maintenance costs that puts people at bay.
If you really like the 300, I would sincerely recommend to talk to few people in person or by phone and get their honest reviews before you put 400,000 on the table.
If sound is the thing you are looking, I cant comment on that. If you are looking for VFM in the same category, try D390 or even the Dominar which has better package overall. Or even the N300.
Good luck.Last edited by TheArcher84; 02-03-2017, 05:52 PM.R15S - Current

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Well, I have gone through the entire thread, found some owners experiences scary, some not!
At 42 just trying to get some exiting biking back into my life after all to have a little bit of craziness in the dull and monotonous practice of work life and parenting,
well the cost doesn't bomb me because aim quite used to the extravagant bills I used to get for my RD to keep it running, After all everything has a price to pay, Well looks like even if i pay the price it won't be a weekend affair???

As Archer said, maintenance and spare costs are high compared to the same segment of T300. I have been using T300 from last 1.5 years (14K) and didn't see any issue apart from single relay problem (which proactively fixed). I am using my bike for daily commute and occasionally weekend getaways. Didn't change brake pads or chain sprockets so far. (may be riding style and chain cleaning every 700-800kms).Last edited by rahulkaithar; 02-04-2017, 11:14 AM.

Good to hear, feeling a little more confident, but decided to wait for some more time to take the plunge..
Any ways now the bikes come with 4 year warranty by default guys, no need for extended warranty! The showroom in anna salai, gave me the info along with the quote.
The are now enticing people to stY back with their SVC by offering this 4 year warranty, tricky guys. They have removed the handling charges and instead made a paint protection for 7k mandatory along with the purchase... 368000 on road..

[QUOTE=TheArcher84;1274620]Hey Ashok, Being an ex-Benelli owner. I will put my honest thoughts, not to scare you or anything. Just my experience with the Bike and the company.
Hi Archer,
I am a guy who is 5'11 and like a comfortable upright riding position. Comfort is my prime concern(I have a bad back,, and I am addicted to my comfy Innova seating
)
But the biking bug that bit me at 18 years refuses to die and hence my search for a bike that has a good cruising characteristic. I have already tried the Ninja(Not my style), and I absolutely don't like the Duke 390 due to its hooligan character and non existent styling(For me it looks like it has been sent off the assembly line before it was fully finished .. too naked too plasticky.
I tried my hand on the street 750 and quite liked it, but it doesn't actually feel Harley at all. You after all buy a Harley for the potatoes and the relaxed ride.
The triumph twin is on the list , but its really heavy in the city.. Doesn't feel light like the 300..Again the budget too.(I barely expect to ride two weekends a month)
Well about the Dominor I am not sure, I will give it a try before I decide.
Thanks guys.

[QUOTE=Ashokp;1274761]Hi man ,why not test ride the R3,it has had its initial hiccups but for a sports tourer it is apt and i think most of the initial niggles have been sorted out as i have personally faced some of them but the bike is smooth, comfortable and powerful in its class and the riding position you can chegk out from a test ride, just my 2 cents. All the best .Originally posted by TheArcher84 View PostHey Ashok, Being an ex-Benelli owner. Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
[QUOTE=bharatheshk;1274822]My Brother had it in the US , and I di close to 500 kms between Dallas and the nearness, well it still has a low riding position which would kill me with back pain.Originally posted by Ashokp View Post

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
[QUOTE=Ashokp;1274825]Fair enough, but personally what i find is that the sports riding position puts more weight on the wrist & shoulders instead of the back, i don't face back pain when i ride them ,but long distance on cruisers and upright seated bikes i face back & tailbone pain .To each his own i think :-)Originally posted by bharatheshk View PostMy Brother had it in the US , and I di close to 500 kms between Dallas and the nearness, well it still has a low riding position which would kill me with back pain.Yamaha RX 135 5 Speed - 2000 -(current)
