Hey last Saturday I saw a Bennelli TNT 300 in Chetpet, Poonamallee high road around 12 PM. Is it one of you guys? That exhaust gave me a headache. How do you live with that bike on long tours?

I have covered almost 24k. Still on stock chains. Here is a picture of it from the last time I cleaned it.
I think the chains are perfectly fine for the bike. It's just how much you take care of them and what kind of environment you ride them in. For example, if rainy, or very dusty, or along the coast you will need to clean and lube more frequently.
Must have been an IXIL - They are bloody loud. Does any one here ride with MRF rubbers on? 110/70 FC & 150/60 C. If so im looking for some speedo data.
Me and my friend rode together last weekend and we decided to cruise on 100kmph. He was not keeping up. He blamed me for going fast after agreeing to cruise on 100kmph. I said i didnt go past as agreed. So we decided to check the GPS for speed. Downloaded an app called GPS speedometer and trip meter in android.
My Fernanda's(D400) speedo read 100kmph & the GPS read 95kmph.
You know what, my friends TNT 300 did show a terrible speedo reading. Gps shows 100kmph when the speedo reads 115kmph. I was bloody surprised.
So what is the actual speedo error on the TNT 300? With pirelli's.
The odo too was wrong. when we stopped for fuel we reset the trip meter and during our next stop for fuel, the readings were different. 212kms vs the 226kms on the TNT 300.Ride Safe!

I use the following process every 800-1000kms. Or, if I start getting vibes on my foot pegs or hear noise from my chains. Good to know, That is roughly 5% error and thats completely agreeable. We need to find out if tyres are causing the issue or there is a faulty meter in place. The rpm too not working fine i guess. If you are on MRF, it could be the smaller size that is causing the error. The bike is calibrated for 120/70 (front) and 160/60 (rear) tires. There will be differences in a smaller tire. What I meant is lube between the outer and inner plates. That is where the O Ring is present. As long as the O Ring is well lubricated, it will be fine. There is no harm in applying all over the chain. MRF - In Bangalore, after the initial few days, they stopped supply of MRF shod models as no one was opting for it. AFAIK only one or two sold. That was just an option made available, so that people have a cheaper variant. What I would suggest is, as the rim sizes are same, just upgrade to the 120/70 & 160/60 when you change your tires.Originally posted by sman999 View PostI thought so but the initial lot came in MRF's right? Lubing - As long as you are rotating the wheel manually and direct the nozzle along the gap between the inner and outer plates, it works fine. I go around the chain twice. Once on each side.Last edited by brokenbinil; 03-18-2017, 07:00 AM.

Hey Binil! I am a guy who loves to keep his chain clean and lubed well. So, kudos to the great job on your chain! I use diesel for cleaning my chains as well, but I heard that diesel is not good for o-ring chains? Apparently dries out the grease in the o-rings. Have you any knowledge of such problems? Also, how do you spray on the diesel? I have been using TVS tru4 chain lube and it's a wet type lube that is messy as hell. I'd love to move to a dry lube too. 1. Diesel - I have been using this instead of commercial cleaners for over 5 years across two vehicles. My R15 & now the T3. The O Rings seal the grease inside the bearing shafts and nothing from outside gets in. The only possibility of that happening is, if the O Rings dry up and due to dirt and contaminants, the rings start wearing off. Does the diesel effect the O Rings ? No, it doesn't. Hence the problem of the O Rings getting damaged or grease within the O Rings getting dried out is incorrect.Originally posted by madhav766 View PostHey Binil! I use an old Colin spray bottle to spray the diesel onto the chain.
