Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
DSK Benelli is a story of great bike and pathetic after sales. I have experienced this myself, my bike was in the service center for a period of 80+ days. All the stories that you have mentioned above, I have heard them all and some more absurd unbelievable ones. I believed none of it when they were spouted at me by the dealer. I had to reach Shirish Kulkarni himself to finally get my bike back.Originally posted by Rakstar View PostHi, guys.
I'm new here and in fact I just created my profile so I could share my experience with Benelli Bangalore with you all.
So, I've been following the TNT 300 closely online and in this forum and after gaining much info (thanks to the people here) decided to go for it.
I booked the Black model on 6th February, and I wanted the delivery to be done on 23rd February. (It was my anniversary) The down-payment was completed on 18th and the delivery was promised any day after 21st. So far so good.
On 21st, I call up the dealer and now the lies start. The first one was that the shipment has been delayed and I should have the bike in 3-4 days. This repeats a couple of times. Then I speak to the manager Syed on 28th and guess what. He's ready with a brand new lie. He said that the whole stock of 68 black coloured bikes has been rejected cause of a painting mistake. They were apparently grey instead of black. A lie which he repeats to this day. And so now I'll have to wait for the end of March to get the bike.
Today I got sick of all this and called the DSK customer service numbers on their website hoping for an explanation. I spoke to a Ms. Kiran Thapa who confirmed that Mr. Syed had lied all the way, and that the reason was simply because they had made a lot of sales for the black model last month at various dealers and just had ran out of stock. She apologized on behalf of Mr. Syed and promised to take this issue under priority. Still, even she conceded that it would take till the end of this month till I have any hope of getting the bike.
Now all this is making me feel like I made a mistake. If I'm getting this sort of service before sales, then I shudder to imagine the same after. I'm even considering cancelling the whole thing, but I'm surely gonna lose money as the loan amount too has already been disbursed.
Sorry for this long non-ownership related post, but I just wanted to share my experience with the Bangalore dealership.
The customer was, is and always will be a dumass. A beggar. Never a king.
I love my motorcycle and I can't get rid of it now.

I am sorry to hear your experience. To be honest I was also told 2 weeks and got my delivery in 4 weeks. However they kept me upto date on the delays and I was ok with it. The reasons, could have been lies though.Originally posted by Rakstar View PostHi, guys.

After sales has been a mixed response. At times they have been really good. At times there have been delays due to spares availability. Haven't faced any bad issues with the SVC in Bangalore yet. I may be lucky as I have heard some ridiculous incidents from other owners of 600 n 300. Considering you have put in your money. I would say why waste it. It's an awesome bike. Service is an issues - Yes but honestly I'm bothering about that only till my warranty ends.

How? they won't give you the spares in hand incase you got a better mechanic who can do things for you or for that matter even an air filter in case you need to replace it yourself.Originally posted by brokenbinil View PostI am sorry to hear your experience. Yeah, I don't think I have much choice anyways. And I don't mind waiting, it's the false commitments and ridiculous lies that gets me. Now I can never believe whatever he says. I sold my current bike trusting his words, and now I've to be without a vehicle for almost a month and a half. It's just bad management.Originally posted by brokenbinil View PostConsidering you have put in your money. I would say why waste it. It's an awesome bike. Don't let it go lightly. Take the dealers to task. Escalate.Originally posted by Rakstar View PostYeah, I don't think I have much choice anyways. No one can refuse sale of spares. And also having good terms with svc helps. N worst case Almost all necessary spares available in aliexpress.Originally posted by sman999 View PostHow? they won't give you the spares in hand incase you got a better mechanic who can do things for you or for that matter even an air filter in case you need to replace it yourself.

Sorry about the late reply. I was travelling
The SVC guys in Chennai as far as I see are doing a great job. The only concern most of us are facing is lack of parts or delayed shipment of parts. For example, horns, relay switches, fork/gear shaft seals are not in stock. Once you encounter a problem, they order it and it takes min of 2 weeks time. One more important thing is to have a good relationship with them. I am not saying bowing down to them. Sorry about the OT.
On a personal note, I haven't faced any problem dealing with any situation till date. Its better to sweat than to bleed...
