Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Hi Everyone,
I am from Mumbai. This thread is really great and I am thankful to people who created it and people who update their reviews on it.
I have a Karizma R and now looking to upgrade. I am looking for a affordable daily commute bike and want to understand if Benelli would be good or not. I really like the design and looks but I wanna understand a little about technical part as I am not at all good about bikes.
My daily commute is 70kms minimum in city. Approx 2300 a month.
At times in heavy traffic.
What is the fuel efficiency I should look at ?
What is the cost per service I should look at ? In last few reviews I saw someone has shed 5600 approx just for 2 months use which seems to be very costly.
Are the parts of the bike very expensive ? As the roads here are very bad in some places so is the bike able to handle the damage from potholes ?
Is it advisable to buy a brand new Benelli bike or a second hand.
Thanks Everyone for any guidance and help you can provide.Last edited by M faizan; 02-28-2016, 01:58 AM.

Fuel efficiency in city would be around 22-25kmpl... Highways - you can touch 32+kmpl... N it does heat up in the city stop go traffic, how ever not as bad as the dukes. The fans kick in and do a good job of cooling.Originally posted by M faizan View Post

Spares are not exactly expensive, but the service/labour costs are expensive when compared to similar segment s.
The bike can take a beating well, it's well built n can handle bad roads well. If u have a regular pillion, you might want to adjust the suspension settings a bit as the exhaust might bottom out on the nasty bumpers we have on road, in Stock setting.
Considering u are coming from a zma u might like it as the riding style is similarly sedate n unstressed ... N its possible to ride it daily through city. I do it myself. The only pinching factor is the service intervals which is 4k kms. N dsk enforces oil change at 4k. So an average per service cost every 4k kms (from 2nd service) around 5k bucks. I have just done my 3rd service.
Alternatively try out the Mojo too.

spares are expensive so be careful.
service costs are unjustified.
But this is the best buy for the buck, parallel twin smooth engine with decent performance and best sound, alternative will be an R3 will cost 20k more but is an all rounder.
But have heard reports of engine heating and stopping in city traffic. As I gaze upon your beauty, I think to myself, "never have I seen an angel fly so low".

What would be the approx service cost of Mojo come up to any idea.
As per my commute shedding 5k every 2 months for service would be a high cost for me. As I will have fuel cost also go up to a good extent as per mileage.

Servicing Interval is 6K (not sure about the time interval). Engine Oil is usually replaced for every 6K.

Just Rs 1800 more for benelli servicing and service intervals are 1000 kms earlier compared to the R3.Originally posted by M faizan View PostThanks for the help

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Hi, guys.
I'm new here and in fact I just created my profile so I could share my experience with Benelli Bangalore with you all.
So, I've been following the TNT 300 closely online and in this forum and after gaining much info (thanks to the people here) decided to go for it.
I booked the Black model on 6th February, and I wanted the delivery to be done on 23rd February. (It was my anniversary) The down-payment was completed on 18th and the delivery was promised any day after 21st. So far so good.
On 21st, I call up the dealer and now the lies start. The first one was that the shipment has been delayed and I should have the bike in 3-4 days. This repeats a couple of times. Then I speak to the manager Syed on 28th and guess what. He's ready with a brand new lie. He said that the whole stock of 68 black coloured bikes has been rejected cause of a painting mistake. They were apparently grey instead of black. A lie which he repeats to this day. And so now I'll have to wait for the end of March to get the bike.
Today I got sick of all this and called the DSK customer service numbers on their website hoping for an explanation. I spoke to a Ms. Kiran Thapa who confirmed that Mr. Syed had lied all the way, and that the reason was simply because they had made a lot of sales for the black model last month at various dealers and just had ran out of stock. She apologized on behalf of Mr. Syed and promised to take this issue under priority. Still, even she conceded that it would take till the end of this month till I have any hope of getting the bike.
Now all this is making me feel like I made a mistake. If I'm getting this sort of service before sales, then I shudder to imagine the same after. I'm even considering cancelling the whole thing, but I'm surely gonna lose money as the loan amount too has already been disbursed.
Sorry for this long non-ownership related post, but I just wanted to share my experience with the Bangalore dealership.
