I have always felt that driving a brand new bike in traffic is not good for the engine.Last edited by Shashank Suresh; 11-29-2015, 08:11 PM.Its better to sweat than to bleed...

Yes, I am the one who is taking the other green. I wish i am there with you on Monday. But I have to go back to Nagercoil today and come back on Tuesday. It is not. It would put undue stress on engine. You may not be able to go beyond certain number of gear.Originally posted by Shashank Suresh View PostI have always felt that driving a brand new bike in traffic is not good for the engine.

Take it out on an empty stretch.Originally posted by Shashank Suresh View PostYeah you are right. I guess I gotta change my timing !
At every gear, push it between 3k to 5k RPM.
Bring down the RPM and do smooth gear shift.
Use both front and rear brakes optimally.
At 5k RPM you will touch around 75 kph at 6th gear
Constantly change RPM and speed.
Do not ride too slow and at constant speed and RPM.
Stop like every half an hour during lets say a ride of 3 hours. Allow engine to cool and resume ride.
Till 1600 km, control the temptation to fall in trap of eargasm

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Thank you so much for the tips. This is my first bike and as much as I am excited I am scared thinking how I would be able to carry out a successful run-in. I am going to keep this in my mind. Please do share more tips to keep in mind.Originally posted by experimentalhead View PostTake it out on an empty stretch.

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Hi guys,
My first service is due on the 9th of December. Due to unforeseen events i.e. heavy workload and a long delay in getting my number plate (bike delivered on 9th November, number received on 24th
), I have only been able to cover around 500 km so far.
Is ~500-600 kms enough for a break-in? I have to go out of town this whole week, and won't be back till the 8th, leaving no chance for me to put any more mileage on the bike until then. So far, the break-in has been done as described earlier in this thread.

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Hi. Run-in completes at 1600 km mark. There are two phases. 1st phase - ride at less than 5k rpm till 1000 km and get first service done at 1000km or after month from delivery, whichever is earlier. Phase-2: after 1000 km, one can cross 5k rpm but not more than 8k rpm till 1600 km mark. Post 1600 km, you can open throttle beyond 8k rpm.Originally posted by MaestroX1 View PostHi guys,

Here, I have seen some owners putting less miles on their bike after a month and service centre folks just do basic check and ask the owner to come back at 1000 km mark for engine oil change.
