Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Oh man, that is ridiculous. Even if it goes into a pothole, how could it damage the clamps and puncture the radiator. If someone had to fiddle with bike like vandalism, why would they target something like backside of the radiator. I am unable to correlate the reason given. I hope everything goes smooth henceforth. However, this still requires a thorough investigation and logical reasoning.Originally posted by fusioncoast View Post

even i did not find the reasoning logical, plus the back side is not accessible at all, so i doubt somthing has happend in the factory or at the SS.Originally posted by experimentalhead View PostOh man, that is ridiculous. Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
First of all, I'm really really disgusted that something like this has happened to you.Originally posted by fusioncoast View PostSome days back i went for a ride with the TNT Mumbai group, while coming back suddenly the radiator started leaking from the rear, noticed that the coolant leaked only when the bike went on uneven surfaces on the road. We stopped by to inspect the bike the temperature was normal and did not rise above 92.
Level in the reservoir was below low had almost finished, so we called the Service guys they suggested me to top it up. I dint wanted to call the RSA since i thought it might have over flowed and there was no fluctuation in the temperature.
After returning from the ride i went to the service center the same day, the service manager was kind enough to keep the service center open for me till 8:30 pm.
Next day i called to check what was wrong and they said the radiator is punctured from the back side, so the center manager logged an FIR with the company for warranty. This warranty claim was rejected by the company, saying the clamps which hold the fan was bent and this was a physical damage according to them which cannot be claimed in the warranty.
One possibility the service guy thought must have happend was the bike must have hit a nasty pothole which never occurred.
I have completed only 1700 kms on this bike, i do not ride like a maniac, i also maintain the bike in pristine condition(did not ride it during rains)also keep it away from sunlight and under a cover, also did not do any kind of MoD on the bike not even stickers or Decals.
So i wonder who tampered with the bike then the service guys or the factory?
Since i ride my bike daily i did not want to wait and fight about the issue cos i had seen a fellow riders issue about faulty part installed by the factory being dragged for more than a month.
Hence i fixed the radiator by claiming insurance. New Radiator Cost is Rs. 20000 + Labor Charges.
1. You have driven your 300 for only 1.7k kms. How can the clamps wear out so soon ?
2. You are very sure that you haven't dropped your vehicle into any deep potholes.
3. Your vehicle did not have this issue before you took it to the checkup. This clearly means that you need to investigate what happened when the bike was not with you.
You can actually file a complaint against these guys in consumer court. I mean if that's the extent you want to go.
I'm happy that you got your bike back. How much did it cost to renew your insurance ?Last edited by Shashank Suresh; 12-06-2015, 02:38 AM.Its better to sweat than to bleed...

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
You need not pay anything for renewal on claims. However you will lose no claim bonus while renewing next year.Originally posted by Shashank Suresh View PostHow much did it cost to renew your insurance ?
I'm not sure how the 3 year policy work.

I had not clicked any pictures as we felt that its was over flowing, but the TNT Mumbai riders had seen it during the ride.Originally posted by sman999 View PostThat sounds ridiculous. Hope things get smooth at least after this.

Also 1 of the rider had faced similar issue but he got brazing done for the radiator.

. also how will that effect the radiator?

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
20k for a radiator is just as ridiculous as the issue we have on hand, and it's great that the fellow rider, claiming insurance. Now, what concerns me is this person has reported another person reporting a similar incident, unless otherwise this person has a valid reason for the leak, i.e. falls, stone rupture, etc and he'd got this brazing done, are we looking at potential weak spots or stress point here? It might be feasible for the 300i owners to do detailed analysis and compare and report it to Benelli, if the need be. 20k is no kidding for a radiator that more or less looks like what we have in the Duke, build wise, not taking the size into equation.
I think this is potential red herring!
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

Will a radiator guard do any good ? And if I install one will it void the warranty ? How about frame sliders ? If I install an after market one will it void the warranty ?Originally posted by fusioncoast View PostI had not clicked any pictures as we felt that its was over flowing, but the TNT Mumbai riders had seen it during the ride.

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Radiator Guards :- Not really required as the chances of something flying hitting it is remote and it comes at the cost of restricted airflow as they are mostly cosmetic, than being functional. One concern is however small stones or pebbles and of course muck on wet days getting flicked off the tire (they are very sticky). The stones can puncture your radiator and the muck can clog it. I have extended the mudguard using a BTwin mudguard and it works well. My radiator is clean even on a rainy day.Originally posted by fusioncoast View PostDont install radiator guard they will say the guard damaged the radiator, also frame sliders can be installed i use the one from dsk benelli which costed me 7.5k but i heard the same is sold in pune for 4.5k i feel cheated
Frame Sliders :- DSK Benelli is selling their own frame sliders, they come in sets of 4. However i am using only two (the front ones - fit next to the arrow shaped panel below the tank. It is 4000 bucks and value for money and looks like it would do the job well.
The following pictures, you would be able to see them

I am assuming you are asking about the front mudguard extension. The BTwin mudguard you will get in any store of Decathlon. I bought this one for 100 bucks.Originally posted by Shashank Suresh View PostLooks sweet. How much did it cost ? Can you share the link as well ?
Effort - spent around 15 Mins
