I totally mirror your views (DSK, Service, Spare Availability etc). Will share my experience in a similar format after my Oct-Nov trip ...Originally posted by experimentalhead View PostOwnership experience at 24000 Km & 7th service

SERVICE CHARGES:
1st Service: Rs 3348.78 [ Engine oil, oil filter and consumables. Labor was free ]
This is the absolute main reason I stayed away from going to Benelli, I was almost ready to book the 600i before I held back after knowing the humongous service charges and the ridiculous service intervals. Now with my ER-6n, even though it has just had the first service done, the bill came up to 4.7k which included change of engine oil and filter as well as labor charges as there is no free service in Kawasaki. The second service which is scheduled in another 6 months or 6K kilometers does not have an oil change or the filter, as its done very alternative services and so I am very much confident that the 2nd service is going to cost even less as majority of the bill in the first service was from the oil and oil filter itself (2.6k) as the bike takes in almost 2 liters of oil. Now, not only am I very much in love with my machine, but I am glad that I stayed away from Benelli, as the service charges are so high, somewhere near to the Z800 category. Buying any bike is just half of it, servicing and maintenance is the biggest part I believe one should look into before taking the plunge. Glad that you are happy in spite of such humongous costs spent on the bike as ultimately, if the bike is keeping you happy, then nothing else matters.Last edited by kanth; 10-09-2016, 09:13 AM.

When Kawasaki stepped foot in India, the spare parts, maintenance were tad expensive.Originally posted by kanth View PostThis is the absolute main reason I stayed away from going to Benelli, I was almost ready to book the 600i before I held back after knowing the humongous service charges and the ridiculous service intervals. Slowly when they grew in the market, when their sales went high and when started seeing growth, they localized parts, they stacked up parts thus making it affordable.
Since DSK Benelli is just a year and half old in the motorcycling industry in India, its too early to predict their future.
If they stabilize in India, they would certainly take strategies to make it easy for the customers. Its better to sweat than to bleed...

Thanks Brokenbinil, I have been following all your knowledgeable eye-opening posts with a keen eye. Feel good to be around in good CompanyOriginally posted by brokenbinil View PostSeems like a temperature sensor issue. Please don't ignore abnormal temperature readings. As one thing could lead to another. Would recommend not ti ride in such condition and use RSA to take it to SVC and get it checked. What ever the issue, should be fixed in warranty.
If you keep running the machine in such conditions the engine gaskets can give away, resulting in mixing of coolant n engine oil. Best to get it checked asap.
n Yeah H20 is a fail safe which cuts of the engine if the temperature goes beyond 112 degrees Celsius. (not exactly sure of the upper limit). It helps doing further damage to the bike or engine.
Welcome to the family.

I Pray this turns out to be True in case of Benelli too in the interest of all owners of the Benelli in India! The bike is superb and only the Expensive Service and Spares shouldn't spoil the ownership experience. Although the TNT300 seems heavy whilst pulling it behind from parking position, you can hardly feel the weight while riding, in fact found it to be extremely nimble in traffic.
As a prospect, I had also asked Roshan from the Pune SVC as to what is a justifiable reason for the 4000Kms/4months Service especially since Synthetic oils are supposed to have a longer life. This is his clarification "This is a Happy Revving Undersquare Engine. The Oil galleries are very tight and do need a very thin layer in between the mating surfaces hence the company has decided a 4000Kms interval" Although I wasn't completely convinced but I was happy to receive proper response from the Service Manager while I was still a prospect and encouraged me to trust the Service.
Do hope that the Service bills come down soon... Experimentalhead, Sirjee spending around Rs.56k till the 7th service in one and half year is seriously exorbitant IMO.

Owning this awesomesauce machine is so special, the exhilaration i get from this just can't be described in words.
I am out of words for this magnificent machine the Italians have come up with.
Delivery was as promised on morning of Dusshera on 11th October, went to the Pune showroom with my Dad to get the delivery. I was welcomed with a view of magnificent brand new Benelli's lined up in front of the showroom itself with fresh garlands around them and ready to be delivered to their proud customers. There was one 600 GT, one 600i, and 3 TNT 300's as seen in the attached pics (2 Green and 1 white), the little child inside me was jumping with joy
. Initially was confused which was mine as they had put on no accessories on both of the green one's. I had opted for Tank pads and Frame sliders from Benelli
. We went inside and were warmly welcome by Ajinkya who welcomed us with Dussehra wishes
After signing the delivery documents and formalities, was presented with the kit which has company warranty booklet, EW warranty booklet(yes i preferred it
) and owner's manual, RSA card and visiting card of Mr Roshan Bawankar(Pune SVC head) Asked them why they hadn't put on the accessories, i was told that because of workload due to dusshera deliveries there was less manpower to install it at the SVC
and i was promised to get it installed from the SVC the very next day as it is near to my house. Signed the security gate pass and went outside for the delivery ceremony which is special as have read about it so many times on this blog.
There was my soon to be b(ride) gleaming in the october skies
. Inspected basic things such as coolant levels, brake fluid levels and visual inspection on the bike. DSK provided us with pooja thali, coconut and a sweet box. After performing pooja, Ajinkya went through the basic know-how's for operating the bike. After it was done, finally fired up the magnificent inline two GT engine, that moment was special *_*, took the pics which i have attached, distributed sweets and left the showroom. The bike is an instant attention grabber, right from exit gate of the showroom, signals, fuel station, till i reached home! The exhaust note is just so mesmerizing and the gearbox is so flawless. But i could feel the heat even though after riding below 5K RPM, the temperature was like 93 degree celsius! They told me as the engine is new it takes times to tune in this is a normal condition as standard engine operating temperatures are 75-85 degrees. That was the only thing that bothered me. The next day went to SVC and got the tank pad and sliders installed.
Drove it like 200kms in just 2 days now
Hope to add more stories and experiences on this blog !
Safe Riding, always !

Thanks !Originally posted by razzer View PostCongrats on a beautiful bike!
How are the brakes?
Brakes are quite good, don't have a strong bite but the feel is good.
Have been told that the new brake pads have magnesium compounds in them, hence the increase in costs I guess.
Bikes manufactured on or before August 2016 have these new pads.Last edited by Nikhil Kale; 10-14-2016, 01:01 PM.Ride Hard or Stay Home.
