Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Actually i dont see any significant difference in dynamics but one thing I noticed was the pickup got increased, have to check the fuel economy since it is less stickey towards the surface comparing to pirelli.Originally posted by drive_angry View PostCould you also let us know impact on fuel efficiency and riding dynamics since you’ve downgraded from 160 to 150 rear section tyre.

Yes, I guess its an overkill...I will try and get two 10 or 15 , otherwise I will put just one single 40 under the headlight......RTO inspectors have been fining aux and modified silencers in Kerala for sometime now. In city you have to keep it covered.

Are you checking with the speedo? then it could be an error due to smaller diameter overall.Originally posted by samhassan View PostActually i dont see any significant difference in dynamics but one thing I noticed was the pickup got increased, have to check the fuel economy since it is less stickey towards the surface comparing to pirelli.

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
I have picked up TIMSUN TYRES for my 3rd set of tyres on the TNT 300.
1st Set - Stock Pirelli Angel ST [stock size] - Lasted me 23500 km - Awesome grip and touring friendly. (Sports Touring Tire)
2nd Set - Metz M7RR Sportec [stock size] - Lasted me just about 15000 km - Grip better than Angel ST, curvier tyre profile hence made the bike more flick-able. While it lasted less, the bike was more fun in the ghats than with the Angel STs. It still had grip but it was picking up nails and small metal pieces like a magnet when the tire got warm. Hence replaced it. (Road Racing Tire - developed for Isle of Mann TT Racers) COST for a set - INR 24500/-
3rd Set - Timsun 659A - (70/30 On/Off Road Tires) [front stock and rear 160/55 instead of 160/60 as that was the nearest size available)- So far the experience has been good. Oddles of grip takes a little longer to warm up compared to the Metz or Pirelli. Ridden in slush, broken roads, gravel and sand, also in rains much better grip compared to both of the above-mentioned tires in the conditions mentioned. COST for a set - INR 9985/-
Why I selected TIMSUN?
I had seen a few friends use it in the KTM DUKE 390 and felt good about it and of course, it was 1/3 the price of a Pirelli or Metz.
Something to keep in mind.
- This is not a radial tyre (hence the low cost) - CONS - I did not find any issues in real life scenarios PROS - Sidewalls are stronger that radials and thus alloys are less susceptible to damage.

I don't usually rely on digital speedo, I know it can't be accurate, I believe in my instincts because i usually spend most of my time with it, so i can feel any small change in its performance, I can feel the immense rush at its initial start like from 0-70kmph. Will try check it with GPS speedo soon.

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Guys, I really wanted to drive TNT300 for a day. I am based out of NCR but sadly there are no companies here that provides Benelli on rent. I had contacted wicked ride from Bangalore and even they say that TNT300 is not part of the fleet anymore. my question is: would anyone know where I can rent TNT300 for a day. I can pay upto 2k rent for about 9 hours as well. Thanks!

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
I was looking for some light mode for my helmet and came across this site by sheer chance.
I had seen the original light mode site where the same design is available for $129 plus shipping charges from Canada. In Lifestore it cost me just $ 34.99 including shipping. The price has again dropped ny $10 when I checked it last night. The design is the exact same, probably these guys supply them ! !
There was one difference though. When I ordered it , the site said the battery pack / control unit was rechargeable and it comes with adhesive in the back. I got a regular control unit where I have to put 2 AA battery and it came with a clip. So now I have to figure out to fix it to the helmet. The LED strip and the control unit is supposed to be waterproof which I will have to test in the rain.
The control unit has button which cycles through - constant glow, slow blink, fast blink and off.
The item came after 26 days after ordering ( tracking is available) . I will mount it today or tomorrow and put a video.

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
My bike is undergoing the 4th service. It is supposed to be done at 12k or 1 yr. I have done 8k in it. The svc is insisting on changing the spark plugs and I didnt argue with them as the warranty is still in place. But arent spark plugs supposed to last a very long time? Changing at even 12k seems really short duration. My Honda City has just completed and it still is on the original ones, probably will change in the next one though.

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Kochi had a Benelli service camp from 3rd to 5th. There were discounts on labour, spares and oil and free wash too....I managed a free chain cleaning and lubricating also. There was a Benelli representative for the service camp. You get a small gift comprising of a Diary, Pen and a pendrive. Pendrive has some pics and videos of the Leocino and TRK 502 and some other info like the new service schedule etc.
The TRK 502 looks good. Its being launched in the first half of next year. I am seriously thinking of moving to 502 if the pricing is good.

Any updates on when the sale of the three existing model resumes under the Mahavir-Benelli JV? I live in Pune, and am very eagerly waiting for the TnT 300 to relaunch!
Interestingly, the https://www.mahavir-benelli.com website went down as suddenly as it came up!

Re: Benelli TNT 300 Ownership Experience
Sales will start only in Jan, thats what the Benelli rep told me. I guess Benelli wants to be known by their brand rather than being co branded. All other bikes manufactures have only their brand name in the website.
