Faulty bulb is the reason given.

I didn't understand why they replaced with same brand bulb if they're defective n tend to melt !!

@clasaic_86 could you please engage the GT owners to start an Ownership Thread here. Still no GT thread. Which exhaust is that on GT?

As I was told by service folks...But I said 'NO' as I was not sure about whether it is right plus my logic was if 15amp could do the job, then why use a 10amp. I did not want to take chance with that.
You guys could shed some light on this as this would be of great use in case of any future issues. My friend when I met him yesterday still maintained that we could have
put 15amp, ensured that no light was turned on and could have ridden. Not sure whether that's right.

Well, I got a call from DSK-Benelli this evening following my satisfaction letter comments and it was a positive discussion. More on that during my next post as I need to rush for dinner before my wife breaks this computer.
It just keeps me wondering, and it's reassuring to see your motorcycle back on the road. But just curious where were those headlamps manufactured?

I'm a proponent of Made in Anywhere (and diss the discussion when it relates to where it's made) products as they last considerably well, considering the age of your motorcycle, melted wires/bad bulb makes me wonder why, and my sense is that the mount mechanism could have been reinforced with good stable insulation at the rear of the socket, looks real crude. Shorted most probably due to electric arcing.

I'd suggest you replace your bulbs to a good aftermarket one, considering the markings on the bulb end with "INA" my gumption leads to me believe it was indeed cost cutting on their side using cheap bulbs. Something like Osram, Philips, the Duke has German Osram bulbs.

And you've done the wise thing not upping the amps when they were blown twice, what you could have done is apart from the screwing the mount mechanism, you could have melted the fuse carrier themselves, as all that excess voltage would have easily made a mess on your fuse box itself. Glad you stuck to your gut instincts.

        Ride safe!

        Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
        The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

        THE END

Don't even ask the ASC guys. Just install Phillips Extreme Vision by yourself.

The exhaust is by Proformance. It's sold by Ritesh Ved. You can find him on Facebook.

I will ask him if he can start a thread as I'm curios too. He added quite a few accessories like frame sliders, engine sliders, after market exhaust etc. so might be a good thread.

The H7 Bulb in the picture seems to be Philips, You can see faintly in the pictures. The issue does not seem to be with the bulb. Its the socket which melted due to the heat. Ideally it should not.

Even my hunch is that a damaged bulb cannot blow two fuses one after another, until there was some technical fault in the wiring.

I'm surely gonna keep an eye on that. Any sign of over heating. I'll point it out. In fact other 300 owners should do a check, just to be on the safe side.

My TNT 300 headlight gets heated up in half an hours ride, dont know it that is of any concern. Will get the assembly checked for any potential wiring problems just to be on the safe side.

Headlight will get heated. That is normal. What we need to keep track - is the socket which plugs into the bulb showing signs of damage due to the heat. Also the wires leading to that socket.

The assembly will heat up. Its natural. Check for the sockets and wires.. check for damage or burn marks or any sort of melting there..
