Green 300 is what I saw first and decided to get it. Also because the green and silver colors are on the logo as well.
1st service is at 1000 kms so maybe next week I guess. I'll let you know my experience. The service center is in Saligramam. Haven't been there yet.

guys, i have a doubt regarding the service intervals..

Is it absolutely necessary to service every 4 months ?

I mean, if not skipping intentionally, work and family obligations might hold us from spending time for the service. so there might be dealy.

Also the service is once in 4 months for 2 years and then the interval becomes longer ? or it stays like this forever ?

                Thanks

At 4000kms its just a checkup its not a service second service is at 8000kms

okay. But what do they do in a check up ?
Just look for problems, if there isn't any they will give us the bike but charge 4k ?

Oil and filter change done at 4k/8k kms right ?. Which costs 6k.
The check up is necessary? Is it because of the higher capacity engine it needs more frequent check up And service ?

Sorry about the noob questions. .

                      Thanks in advance

DSK response: After 200 km, it is Rs. 45 per km till it comes back within 200 km radius.
My response: That day I checked with the towing vehicle driver who came, who also gave me his business card, and he said they normally charge Rs 20 per km. Requested DSK to loook into this as vendore is charging double and seems like vendor is actually covering up for the free within 200 km radius.
I do not understand why DSK cannot fix the extra price per km. As per my understanding it's Rs.40 per kms which will Rs.80 since it will be charged To & Fro. We should get all the term's & conditions on paper & I'm behind Mumbai guys for that.
When my motorcycle broke down (yes again!) I was firm & told them that I'll not pay for the amount if it's 50 kms or 100kms extra as it was DSK-Benelli's responsibility since the defect was not normal or accidental. & I was adamant on that. In your case too it should be the case. If you have paid more then ask for the reimbursement since it's manufacturer's fault.
Also I'm planning to get better RSA from outside (Insurer) if it's feasible. Who will pay 5-10K extra every time or shall we keep on riding with 200kms of Showroom?

If I go by the owner's manual then it's not correct.
At 4000 kms it's a paid service which include:
                          1. Oil & Oil filter replacement.
                          2. Air filter will be cleaning (replacement at 8000 kms.)
                          3. Spark Plug cleaning & if required gap adjustment, (replacement at 12K kms).
                          4. Chain adjustment & lubrication.

I've confirmed this at Bangalore workshop. Don't go with what Mumbai guys say. When I took the delivery after first service they told me to get the motorcycle for 2nd service after 4000kms from first service which will be 5000kms on odo. I had to explain John that it's not the correct schedule.
I had very bad experience with Mumbai service & equally good experience with Bangalore.
But since I'm not in Bangalore I'm planning to get all my remaining services done at Pune. I came to know that it was not the first time & few Mumbai customers are getting motorcycles serviced at Pune.
I did a long trip 2000kms recently & I'll share the experience shortly.

If you mean the one's through Insurance Companies.
Guess they would also be tying up with the local guys only.

Yes or third party. My only issue is Rs.80 (round trip) per extra km is not right.
With the recent experience I'm looking out for better options.

                                Hi Arnab,
Yes, everything went well till Chikmagalur. Without the issue me & Alok would have rode till Madikeri the same night, it would have been fun. At least he made it next day. I was not that fortunate. But in the end I rode till Mumbai from Tumkur (~1000kms) in a day & I'm pleased. Has Alok reached back Pune safely? Tried to reach him but no answer.
The issue which I had was due to bad service. I'll share the details soon.
                                Regards,
