        Hi Friends,
This is Jawed from Mumbai. I am 40 and I love bikes.

I got myself a Yamaha R3 last year...around this time.

Have been enjoying the bike since then.

Have completed 15k kms and the longest that I rode was a round trip to Ahmedabad. I did this solo trip on Christmas last year and did around 1100 kms in 30 hours..

Look forward to participating in the discussions on this forum.

        best regards,
        Jawed

          Welcome bro!

Nice to hear that you have clocked 15k kms in a year.

How is your R3 and we, fans of R3(future owners) are awaiting experiences from people like you. Because it's been so long since we all read a detailed ownership experience.

          Hope you could help us.

            thank you Shiva,

Yes, I have had a very fulfilling experience with the bike. I will probably write a longer post with the my experience later on. But in short, I have gone through the entire rigmarole...Clutch bearing broke down twice (before the recall), Error Code 19, radiator damaged by over-enthu SVC...and then a full head-on collision a few weeks back..everything on the right side damaged...fairing, head-light, fork, foot pegs, RVM...

Is spite of everything...I love my R3 and every time I travel out of Mumbai...I look forward to coming back home just to let myself loose on the bike.....

            cheers,
            Jawed

Ride safe bro, still disappointed that yamaha aren't offering abs as a option.. One piece of advice change your brake lines to steel braided , makes a hell lot of difference in non abs vehicles.

Since most of us here says, Bangalore Wheels is the best service station for our R3. Can someone share the mobile number of the contact person there. And which branch of Bangalore Wheels should I prefer?

I would suggest to go for latest model.
Taking risk by saving some small amount over the safety recall issues doesn't worth it.

Sampath is the service manager there i guess.

the 2017 model looks pretty bad imo.. any 2015 owners who would like to comment. also since all the 300cc class bikes are due for an upgrade next year what should i buy right now.. my 8 year old R15 is taking its last breath unless i spend a 20k something on it..

Ask showroom people to get recently manufactured bike. R3 would get some makeover by year end or early 2018.

Buy latest, avoid such old showroom bikes. They were probably thrashed around during test rides and god knows what all parts have been replaced from it, I mean for internal parts that can't be seen.
