When I bought R3 it was first in entire Chhattisgarh, but dealer gave me good TD and at that time I had no plans of purchasing me and eventually I purchased it after two months. So, Write a mail to yamaha and mention the showroom name which is dealing with R3.

Don't worry about error 19 it's solved. Although till now I haven't faced that error.

The thing is i have been itching for an upgrade since a year now but one thing or another screws up the timeline.. now i think i can go ahead and get one.. i am tired of waiting for the Abs model or a suitable 600cc bike except from kawa. so i have to dicide between the RC and the R3. i was hoping some eager r3 owners might have taken a test ride of the new RC and could share their valuable feedback.

The R3 i have only sat on once that too almost a year back and i didnt realy like the rear pegs.. worse than those on the R15 V1. also the recent recalls and code 19 stuff has somewhat eroded the confidence i had in Yamaha. Plus its super rare and i havent seen even a single one on road innmy region..

R3 test ride not available in lucknow.. not even a showroom piece..bike available only on booking amount of 50k.. Took a TD of the new RC. much refined over previous model but stance still a bit aggressive and there are vibrations everywhere still.. R15 V1 felt like a sofa after riding it. I am confused now. R3 does come barebone and RC is fully loaded..Should i just buy the RC or take a chance with the Yamaha R3 ?
There is no point comparing the RC 390 and R3, both are bred completely differently, both have different engine characteristics, both have different seating positions, both have different torque at different RPMs. In, short nothing dramatic has changed in the 2017 RC 390. You get more electronic features which makes the package even more irresistible than ever before. R3 and RC both are very capable machines. One is relaxed, calm and capable, the other one is mad, capable and demanding. Notice the "reading between the lines"

If you'd like an upgrade from a single cylinder and calls for affordable, reliable motorcycle, then go for R3 eyes closed. Yes they had clutch issues, yes they had ignition lock issues, yes they had some coolant leak issues, yes they had some handlebar aligning issues, but they're all sorted for the most part in the newer lots.

It's a pretty decent package for the price. Though I personally feel the inclusion of ABS would have been a real icing on the cake for this motorcycle, which serves a useful purpose on a mid sized machine like this.

        Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
        The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

I had started reading the ownership threads since the start. But due to my twelfth grade I had to stop (still in twelfth). I haven't been up to date with everything. Sorry for acting like a total lazy bum.

I just had a few questions and would be very glad if someone answered them, here goes.

Are all of the issues rectified? I mean the handlebar hitting the tank amongst others...

Will it be sensible to get it in July this year? Or should I wait for the updated model (this would be very difficult)

What is the average fuel efficiency? Need to for the highways. As I plan to tour.

Is the tank range good enough to tour?

Clutch issues were solved under recall, ignition lock issues (error 19) which was solved by changing lock set, no coolant issues till now reported and handle bar alignment issue which yamaha tried every thing to solve if but it miraculously vanished after changing tyres to radial ones (michelin and pirelli rosso 2) as reported by the owners who have faced this issue.

Myself has 2015 manufactured model but haven't faced any of these issues and nowadays all pending/previously reported issues have solved too.

Just came to know through service center that Yamaha has sent communication to all serv centers to replace a cable to correct the Code 19 error. So its another Recall.

Buy N300. Years of refinement. Better looking than the R3(personal opinion). You can't mistake a Ninja for anything else. Slipper clutch. Sounds like a rocket once u start going over 7000rpm. 12k redline. Loads of aftermarket mods. Zero niggles. Every part exudes quality. Fill it and forget it.

Sir same specs are for R3 which you are referring and R3 redlines at 12.5k rpm. Regarding aftermarket just search online you will get same aftermarket spares like N300. I have done 15k kms and arnab Chowdhury has done over 40k kms here we haven't faced a single issue.

Huge respect for N300 but you can't straight away put R3 out of the scene.

Brother I have nothing against R3. In fact it was my first choice. The only thing i compared was the looks. Which is subjective. I only pointed out pros of N300.
If it does bother u so much, here are pros of R3
                    Butter smooth engine.
                    Saves u about 40k.
                    Cheaper spares.
                    Cheaper to maintain.
                    More power than the N300.
                    More torque.
                    Better brakes.
                    Blue colour scheme is delicious.
Good low n mid range i.e. feels great even in city rides.
                    Stronger after sales service network.
                    It's Yamaha.

                    Peace brother.

we all know that looks are subjective. I am talking about performance both bikes are equally great, i too agree ninja looks good but when it comes to maintenance and spare availability R3 goes ahead.

                      Peace

Could you share some more light on what or which cable that they're supposed to change as part of the recall? Would help us all get some insight. Thanks!
