  • Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences

i know. almost every 300 cc bike is getting a refresh next year.. that is what is making it such a hard decision. i dont know if i can wait for another 1 year for the refresh which may or may not happen.

havent checked the details since the owner of the showroom wasnt present.. what i do know is this was one of the early lot bikes. he got 2. black he kept and the blue was on display for 3 months and then he sent it to the storage because nobody was buyin it.a few days back he took it out and its on display again.. he says its 2016 model but the stickering is clearly 2015 edition and its the same blue..

When i said 2017, i meant latest batch not the latest paint scheme. Yamaha India never changed the paint scheme since its launch.

R3 is coming in only one visuals since its launch. They never changed it for India. So better check VIN number to identify the batch.

Soo not even abs as a option? Why is yamaha not doing anything? Im equally disappointed they don't have the fz/tracer 700 here....

In this regard we have nothing to complain against the manufacturers. The reason is bit complicated. We are not ready to buy expensive bikes yet. Iam not talking about few people here and there. But in a bit of large scale. So simple they cant bring the models here. Take R3, how many have bought R3 in india.?
Yes the reason is way more expensive but on the other hand yamaha simply cant localize the bike.

Our market is still in developing stage when premium bikes are concerned. But yes i agree on ABS, though the cost of bike while be increased more which in turns will affect the sales.

Very similar to Honda not concentrating on this segment, the 300r came out in 2014, it's been 3 years still, and now 250rr which I absolutely don't see it coming, 500r looks atleast a tad realistic , I suppose we will still the older bikes for a continued period of time... Now bajaj with the dominar n KTM with the new dukes I think the competition is already getting slain by them , I hope this aggravates them to bring down a worthy bike, but then again the taxes on CBU is outrageous and CKD doesn't seem possible

That looks like a downgrade to me atleast in CC terms, its the r25, it will not displace the r3, 2017 r3 is out with abs and additional colours in India, I doubt any of the colours or abs is even coming to India, we know what Yamaha cares about.

Yamaha will only care about ABS when government makes it mandatory.

This is R25 but the same can be applied to R3 as well. Whatever mechanical upgrade they bring will also be brought to India. So far only stickering job was changed and nothing else. But if there is any mechanical upgrade then it will be brought to India.

R25 is sold in Indonesia, Thailand, a few more Asian and European countries, its lower in CC but more track focused, countries like these got the CBR 250rr also which we will never get.

There is no reason to bring CBR 250RR to India. For the tech it carries the price will be close to Ninja.
Except for the engine characteristics R25 is not much track focused.

True but there were rumours of a 350rr like how Yamaha did with the r25.. But atleast 300 should have been here by now , 500 is a bit more of a expensive alternative.
