Thanks! I checked with my Frame # and the re-call doesn't apply to my bike. So no issues there.

Kasi theatre would be near to me. Do let me know how was the service quality.

Also, what is the standard warranty that comes with the bike ?
Sure, will let you know. Standard warranty is 2 years or 30000 kms, which ever comes first.

Got my 1st service done. Oil change and oil cleaner change. Chain clean and lube. That's it. Suspension was way too soft with the standard setting. Got that stiffen up. Been bouncing all over the place and got a light back ache. Rode for about 15 kms after service and everything seems fine so far. I hope I don't get any problem. Lost bite on both brakes because they are still very greasy I guess. Should be fine after a while. Riding slow.

When I arrived at the service center, they assumed I'd come for the re-call. I had to tell them and make them write on the job card that it's 1st service job. They said it will take 2 days and there are bikes for re-call. They wanted me to call first and make an appointment before coming. There was not a single R3 in the service station that I could see. I told it's a 2 hour job and to give the bike in evening. They agreed. They said there are 2 mechanics who do R3 service. I got the names but couldn't meet them as they were not available. Balasiva and Thyag. Balasiva is the chief mechanic there. Wanted to meet this guy and have a chat but wasn't available. My job card says D Karthick and Sakthi Dasan as mechanics supervisors who worked on the bike. Paid 2000 for consumables. They rode my bike for 2-2.5 odd kms. They said it was to test the suspension setting. Just the thought of going to a service center makes me so paranoid

Anybody received recall request for "radiator hose" and "spring torsion"? I just got a call from monarch Yamaha (Pune) yesterday. Just wondering if anyone here has got it done already?

I got a call yesterday from them, also get the letter from Yamaha as well for the recall. Date booked for coming Monday. The lady said they are accepting 5 bikes in a day.

Yes many has got it fixed also. Please go to the below URL and check your if your bike is affected.

Please enter your chassis number to see if your SC125 is affected and needs a replacement of spare parts. Replacement of these parts shall be free of cost.

I will suggest to check the chassis number directly from the bike, below the pillion seat, on the chassis it will be inscribed. There's a chance that RC card may contain a wrong chassis number, it has happened with some people already.

Normally it should take around 2 hours for the whole recall process.

They’ll change the engine oil free of cost and some svc are changing coolant free of cost while some are just topping the coolant. They are giving yamaha tshirt this time.

Thanks for the info .If there is an oil change coupon in the recall kit like last time at least it can be used later since my bike has done only around 200 kms since the last oil change.

You can ask for the oil and carry it home. Don't think there's a coupon this time. I maybe wrong though.

I gave my bike for recall yesterday, since my bike was serviced 1000 km back, I asked them not to change the oil. The service person said that I am entitled for free oil change, and they gave 3 can of Yamalube 10W-40 SL/MA fully synthetic oil. They also rectified the minor repairs and bike wash with polish for free of cost.

They clicked a photo while handing the oil to me.

My experience with Sri Motors Ekkatutangal (Near Kasi theatre) Chennai:

I gave my bike for recall and minor repair at Sri Motor, Chennai. I met Mr. Thiayagarajan who is dealing with R3 bikes, and explained the following problems in my bike:

                          1. Front brake air lock release
                          2. Bike swaying to left
                          3. Rear brake pad change
                          4. Handgrip change
                          5. Coolant top up

They asked me to take my bike next day, but I did not feel comfortable leaving my bike overnight at service centre after the recent incident where the dealer destroyed an R3. I requested the bike on the same day, but they said its not possible.

So, I asked them not to replace rear brake pad and handgrip but the rest and they promised to deliver at 7.30 pm (I gave my bike at 9.40 am). I went there at 7.30 pm, after waiting for almost 20 mins, I got to see my bike neatly washed. I went for test ride, and all the problems addressed were resolved.

Overall, the job done by the Sri motor is satisfactory and the mechanic Mr. Thiyagarajan is very sincere and polite. I tried to tip him, which he refused to take a penny - this impressed me more.

Henceforth, I will give for bike service at Sri Motors.

                          Cheers

You have a lot of options.
#1 - Pirelli Diablo Rosso ll
                            #2 - Michelin Pilot Street
                            # 3 - Metzeler M5.

Many are using MRF Masseter, Apollo and Ceat tyres.

I personally use Michelins on both front and rear and it is serving me well for touring and commuting purposes.

Rosso ll's and Metzeler M5 has superior grip as per users but the life is less whereas Michelin has average grip but lasts long.

I checked for MRF Masseter front tyre (110/70-17) with their customer care, they said it cost 2300 INR which is super cheap but all the dealer that I called said out of stock. Michelin cost 4,900 INR - not sure whether the cost difference is paid off.

May I know how much does Metzeler M5 costs? - the front tyre?

No idea about costs but you can place an order through your nearest Yamaha dealer. They should source you the tyres and give you more insights on cost.
