Yep, understood. Here's a read to keep you glued onto it

For 2019, the Yamaha YZF-R3 gets upgrades to the suspension, brakes, and tires along with new bodywork.
Honda Dio [2010 - 2011]
Yamaha YZF R15 V2 [2011 - Present]
Yamaha YZF R3 [2016 - Present]

What's next? :)

I am waiting for the current Model R3 manufactured in 2019. Not sure when the new one will be released in India. Except LED lights, USD forks and a slightly redesigned fuel tank there hasn't been any change in the new model. Honestly I prefer the looks of the current R3 over the new one with LED Lights.

There's more to it. USD with new triple clamp setup are stiffer than the setup in current model. Rider triangle has also been changed, new version has a more aggressive stance and better front end feel while cornering.

Update : Brake Upgrade.

Upgraded both brake lines to steel braided. Have run over 5000 kms after this change. Tremendous feel and feedback, its a must try for all those who feel the brakes are spongy. You also get the bite back as well. Sintered pads from EBC could make it even better, but I am happy with the stock pads and hence will continue using them.

Also done with the recall. A good initiative that Yamaha is doing this, with a free T shirt ofcourse.

Btw, which SVC did you go to get the recall done from?

It was done from Moto World , Bommanahalli. Liked the mech who is trained on R3. Pretty decent work.

Thanks Ivin. I have registered for my recall on Feb 11th. Still skeptical on which svc to go to
MSP at Bommanhalli is at a stone's throw away from where i stay and i might try going there.
I was skeptical because of the mechanic not having enough knowledge to work on R3. Your statement has restored faith

I had a detailed chat with the service head about the mech’s knowledge about R3 because I did not want to screw up an otherwise perfectly running machine. The interest he took and the explanations were convincing enough for me not to travel way too long for the recall procedure. A couple of close friends as well as few others have done the recall from there after me, and all are satisfied. The service team had almost 65 names with them for the recall, with most from the now closed Orion yamaha. So he should be pretty trained by now. Its a safe bet

Glad to have heard that. 65 is sure a big number
I have registered to get it done from Pacer Yamaha. Might drop the plan since it is very far for me. I might get it done from MSP Motoworld. Thanks again buddy

Yea he mentioned 65 total, out of which some owners have already sold the bike and unable to reach new owners. This was when the recall was announced. Have no idea how well the procedure has gone forward. Anyway youre welcome and dont forget to ask for the T shirt incase they forget it

Many ex owners are still getting messages and calls from the company asking them to get their bikes to get the recall done lol.

Hello everyone!!

I am from Bhubaneswar and its just yesterday that i took the delivery of my beauty.
Its an August 2018 made R3. Should I be concerned about that ?

Would also want some one to please add me in the whatsapp group of R3 owners.

Thanks

First of all, many congratulations on your purchase. Do the run-in properly. It sure is a beauty. Ride safe

Secondly, i don't think you should be concerned about the manufacture date as it is only 5 months ago. Unless your bike acts weird and you faced issues while doing PDI checks, you're good to go. There's a detailed thread on PDI at the very top of the ownership main page. Please go through it if incase you have missed checking on anything.

Thirdly, you can PM me with your full name and cell phone number. I will get you added to the group.

Though I'd love to hear owners' thoughts. Apart from the recent recall for the radiator hose and torsion spring that was for bikes between July 2015 to May 2018. Since your bike is of August, you need not worry. But, it's wise to get it checked at the SVC for any recall, if warranted.

Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

THE END
