I doubt Yamaha India will ever price their products on the right range. It is not in their genes to be sensible here.
R3 looks to be a brilliant bike to upgrade to if anything higher is bank's enemy and you already own a sweet little devil from the lower cc segment.

Although the R3's price is on a premium level, the spares costing is quite easy on the pocket. The bike is also pocket friendly and returns great smiles per miles figures. Many are happy with the pricing and owning one. But yes, since the counterparts of Yamaha have slashed their prices by localizing a manufacturing plant, it is high time for Yamaha to pull up their socks to stay in the market game.

A first ride review of the 2019 R3 by Cycleworld USA ,wonder if all the upgrades will come down to the Indian model and at what cost .I for one still prefer the old R3 looks - now the fairing looks too tall and less wide though it could have improved aerodynamically the older model looked meaner IMO.

For 2019, the Yamaha YZF-R3 gets upgrades to the suspension, brakes, and tires along with new bodywork.

The only Yamaha product I have ever seen priced spot-on, placed properly on par in the right category is the FZ25 (that's it, that's the one)

                    Hi Guys,
I have booked an R3 on 11th of Jan (Blue) cochin. They haven't given me a date yet since I wanted a 2019 manufactured bike. They told me that there is 2 more blue R3 manufactured in 2018 that needs to be sold before 2019 manufactured ones will come out. They currently have 2019 manufactured Black R3. I said i will wait for the blue one. Paid 1 lakh in advance. Hoping to get the delivery by feb or march. Has anyone else here been able to book a blue R3 2019 manufactured and got a date for delivery?

Is still R3 good enough after the price reduction of N300 and the spares ? Yamaha lover here and owned RX135 and own R15...

It may tank as the sales numbers are going only down for R3.
While R3 sold 10 units in Dec, Kawasaki sold 220 units of N300.
It is the only other bike that sold im double digits apart from another dead bike MoJo.
It may be a brilliant bike but it may not be able to sustain for long due to pricing issues. It may be too late to localize it as well since it will take time to select vendors and do all the math involved.

I spoke to a friend Yamaha Dealer and he too said the sales of Yamaha has gone down a lot in Nov-Dec-Jan. The whole market has slowed down but the small players get hit the most. This applies to Suzuki as well.

I still went for the R3 because of its looks and of course the engine and its reliability. I am not saying Ninja is not but I personally prefer the looks of R3 over the Ninja. Now, coming to the cost Ninja has been localized resulting in downgrades of brakes and tyres. I am not sure what other things have dropped in their quality. I love R3, my wife loves the R3 and that pretty much seals the deal:-)

Hi. Are you waiting for the 2019 LED version R3 or the current model R3, but manufactured in 2019?

I think he meant current model with 2019 manufacturing and not 2019 version of the bike. 2019 version of the bike can still take time to come to India. There's no official announcement from Yamaha India nor can the dealerships take booking for it.

Ah. That might be the case. I was surprised for a bit hearing about the 2019 part. [emoji846]
