Anybody installed KTM/Bajaj indicators on the R3? Or any other LEDs which are a direct fit?

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I don't think there would be any direct fit LED turn indicators for R3. We might need to wait for newer models of Fazer, ray zr or FZ to come with LED turn signals. These may fit directly on R3.Originally posted by vinbex View PostAnybody installed KTM/Bajaj indicators on the R3? Or any other LEDs which are a direct fit?
You can also try after market fender eliminators which would allow you to connect Duke's indicators.Hero Honda Splendor (June 2001- Present)

Sure Bro, how do I contact you? I did come to Pune yesterday.. attaching the only picture I clicked on the way. This was one of the best solo trip for me.Originally posted by rushikesh.ware View Post
Congratulations, buddy.
The Radiator guard from MF was a direct fit? Did you install it yourself? I read somewhere that it is a bit of "work" to make it fit properly. Is that your experience?
And one last thing, as a prospective R3, I would love to take a look at your R3 (no test rides needed
) and speak to F2F when you come down to Pune.
1. It was a bit of an effort to understand how exactly does the MF Grill fits. But I eventually took it to the service center and there was this very experienced mechanic called Ahmed Bhai. He helped me set it up without opening the front panel
2. I have ordered the Guardian Gears Shark Universal Tank Bag from Amazon. Looking forward to it.
3. I found a video on youtube about some touring mods for R3. I might go there this week. Loved the way they have made minimal mods to accommodate saddle bags and box. Here is the link
P.S.: I am travelling from Chennai to Pondicherry towards the end of this month on a BMW GS 310. Would love to note down comparison with my R3 as both are very similar in terms of Pricing.

Even I am looking for AUX lights. I took it out on the highway at night and I must admit that the stock headlamps are not 100% safe to drive with in pitch dark. Let me know if you find anything in Pune or Online.Originally posted by rushikesh.ware View PostGuys,
Has anybody installed AUX lights?
I am also looking for some decent handle grips. The stock ones are slightly hard on hands if you are not driving with gloves for short distances.Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/undefinedvariable.xyz/

Go for Hella knight rider series ... They are actually car fog lights but single unit can lit the road far better than stock ones... For that you need to fabricate the bracket to mount on your R3 .. many used the stock mirror mount holes to mount custom bracket there..Originally posted by discover125_yzfr3 View PostEven I am looking for AUX lights. I have this current setup on my Karizma : LED lights for Motorcycle – TheBikingDiaries
Don't bother about the link to Amazon in the above article. There is a huge difference in quality of the lights that came when I wrote this blog post and available now.
I recently did a night ride during my highway trip and the setup helped me to ride safe and carry good pace.
The spread of the AUX light made the car and trucks around aware of my presence, so there were less panic movements.
Also, with this setup I could spot unmarked speed breakers and craters that appear from nowhere on a smooth road.
I am currently making a list of accessories for the R3 will and plan for required modifications for touring. Saddle stay for bags and fixing of AUX lights are high up on the list.
I don't want fix the AUX lights on the front cowl along side the mirrors. It robs the beauty of the front face.
Exploring what are the other mounting points.
In terms branded lights, I am exploring Deneli or Baja Designs. They fricking expensive but have good reviews.Last edited by rushikesh.ware; 09-19-2018, 03:18 PM.Rushikesh

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Wouldn't it be better to start with a higher powered bulb to see if that makes a difference?
These AUX lights do blind the oncoming traffic and the looks of the bike too.
Just wondering if a 55/60W bulb cannot light up the roads ahead, what's the speed that was achieved to come to this conclusion?Regards,

I get your perception and below is my views about your questions.
1. Higher powered bulb.
I am not sure about R3, but for Karizma this options ends up burning the reflector.
Also, I didn't wish to alter the stock settings simply because, I didn't want to be stranded if the altered headlight itself goes kaput.
2. About blinding Traffic. I periodically adjust the AUX lights so that they light up only the road ahead and does not blind the oncoming traffic.
Also, whenever I think they are over-kill for a given situation, I responsibly turn them off.
3. I have done highway touring no Aux lights. Trust me, more than lights I have to bank on my judgement and luck while riding.
With AUX lights, I might not ride fast but I am dead sure of what I see in front of me.
It is ok if the above reasons don't meet your perception. We are different people and I respect that!
Peace
Here is website that has good options for Aux lights:

I do understand the need for Aux lights since the factory lights aren't up to the mark or expectations.Originally posted by rushikesh.ware View PostHi Akash,

May be because I'm spoilt by Bajaj for I own a P220 and the projector headlights work beautifully in factory setup itself.
There are responsible riders like you but then there is the other spectrum which is pain.Regards,

Yes. Its a smart move. I agree.Originally posted by Gollum View PostOh nice, But I think I will keep my turn indicators stock because they are pretty good and very Bright too.
I used a fendor eliminator so had to ditch the standard indicators and used the KTM/Duke type indicators. They are no match for the brightness or visibility which is provided by the original ones.

Hey Man, I read somewhere that the pillion's back is covered in sludge if we remove the stock fender. Is this true?Originally posted by jawedsoft View PostYes. Its a smart move. I agree.
