Did anyone add the Motofusion tail tidy on the 2018 R3 or older? How is it?

At least just the price would be helpful.
I recently got a quote (over the phone) from a Hyderabad dealer who mentioned it is 3.75 on the road price.
Thats a drop of 25k over the price I heard about earlier.

Is this just a year end drop?

There is a recall guys. This is the third recall for R3 in India AFAIK.

Please enter your chassis number to see if your SC125 is affected and needs a replacement of spare parts. Replacement of these parts shall be free of cost.

Radiator hose and Torsion spring needs replacement. Yamaha has already done the procedure in Indonesia, Thailand and Philippines late November and I am glad that Yamaha India is also proactive here. Radiator hose replacement is limited to a few units but torsion spring issue has affected some 2018 models as well.
Any owners in Bangalore knows if any service centers in Bangalore have received the parts, kindly update here. I am a bit confused where to go, till date the bike was serviced from Bangalore wheels and the bike has broken fairing clips, missing screws, bolts, washers and what not, all thanks to the svc guys there. I am literally done with Bangalore wheels , but I am yet to find an alternate Yamaha SVC in Bangalore. No choice here other than to go to a Yamaha SVC for a recall ! I wish they gave away the necessary parts so that we could do it ourselves.

Thanks, for the info!
I checked on the website and mine does not fall under the recall.

Hey Ivin, how are you?

We've got complaints from many owners about B'lore Wheels and their service.

You can try out Pacer Hebbal. Have been servicing the bike from them since 2015 and has been a good experience till date. I'll suggest you to go there after 15th Dec though, as Vinod, their R3 specific mechanic will be back by then.

Tell me about it

I recently had a very bad experience with Bangalore Wheels. They damaged my Oil Sump and all the oil started leaking. Apparently, they either over-tightened the drain bolt so that it developed a crack in Oil sump or it has got damaged while they were hammering the O ring spanner to separate it from the Oil Filter. Had to leave my bike at the SVC for 4 days because the part was not in stock. And the worst part is, they are not ready to accept their mistake and are instead blaming me for damaging the part by going over speedbump/pothole. I mean, seriously? My bike was perfectly fine with no oil leaks when i took it to the service center and a healthy amount of oil came out when it was drained out. Had to shell out close to 6,000 INR to get my bike out of the SVC.

My 2 cents for people who own R3 in Bangalore - NEVER GO TO "BANGALORE WHEELS". NEVER.

Didn't expect the things to change so much just because two service managers left. Pacer is only our hope now.

Hei Arnab, long time brother. Hope you are doing great. Yea I Would try Pacer and would wait till the mechanic comes, meanwhile will search for alternatives as well. Just poured in Motul some 1.5k kms back , so I would run another 2k before the change as I think they might use yamalube after changing the Torsion spring.

I have heard about your story from some common friends. That’s absolutely sad to know it. I know the feel because my Ninja 300 used to crack the sump if not careful on a tall speed breaker as it would bottom out very easily because of the highly ineffective and nightmarish ground clearance it had. Coming to R3, Back in 2015 for the first service, I had gone to BW(which was the furthest from where I stayed back then) and they made me wait 8 hours there after saying they would complete the job in an hours time(how much time would take for 1st service) that too even after reiterating the fact that I was coming right after a night shift. Little did it help though. Just the earsay of good work made me go there, but done for good. The great guys like ArnabC , saquib3005 etc had helped me tremendously for getting through to the owner of BW for parts, service, getting the bike delivered early for friends etc, but some service personnel’s damaging the reputation is a bad hit for the owner, who have been always great to me everytime I called him. I hope they turn things around, especially when they handle the Superbikes in Bangalore.

1st service can normally be completed within a couple of hours at max. They made me wait from 8AM - 5PM too (Even i had gone right after finishing my night shift and got my bike in first after they had opened the gates). They really don't care as long as they are making money.
The same mixed earsay made me go to Bangalore Wheels and i have gotten 6-7 services done on the R3 and a couple of services on my R15 too and i was happy about the service quality. But this time, i had to return with a blame for nothing and a big hole in my pocket.

Also, in this case, the owner turned the scene sour. Instead of really coming down and rectifying things, he made me wait for 4 days without giving me an update on what is happening with my bike at the SVC and believed in his mechanics words without physically seeing the damage. The attitude that was threw at me is not the premium customer experience that i expected after owning a premium bike from a premium company. Nevertheless, enough of cribbing. I'm dealing with this in different ways now. But lesson learnt, i'm never returning to that SVC ever again and I warn each and every Bangalorean to avoid getting in my situation. The service has turned pathetic off-late, after Sampath and a couple others left.

Ivin, just had a chat with the owner of Pacer Yamaha. They right now have two R3 specific mechanics. Vinod, who's not present now, has been my mechanic from 2015 and he has, till date, done a stellar job. Other person recently joined Pacer from iYamaha, where he used to work on R3 and R15 only, as I heard.

Regarding the recall, I just changed the engine oil some 300 kms back. I will not get the recall done soon. I have some trips coming up. Will get those done and then only will get the recall done by the first or second week of Jan. As of now, I had an issue with the radiator hose. The portion where it gets connected to the engine, got extended and hence coolant was leaking from there. I cut the hose by 3-4 mm and it's been well till now and even handled the Himalayas well. So I can say it'll handle normal highways, cities well only.

I got my bike from Sri Motors near Kasi theater. My 1st service is due tomo. 1 service is probably not enough to judge but I'll let you know how it goes. Showroom experience was good. Hope the service is good too.
