    Had booked r3 week ago through perfect motors in Bangalore. The recent changes in Karnataka state tax has made bike costlier by 20k. Tax is calculated on the date of delivery, so dealer requested me to either take delivery before 31st or pay extra after 31st.

      SO better take before 31st and buy good riding gears right ?......unless u have some personal issues to get bike soon.

          False statement, no colour fading in my 1 year 1 month old bike till now and why yamaha would discontinue blue colour which is sold more than black colour.

          Both colours (blue and black ) are available.

            Actually it was mentioned like a temporary halt on blue colour. But like i said, it was from the other forum and i was not able to confirm it since iam not a member there. Or may be Yamaha is trying to bring the 2017 blue scheme.

              Don't believe on these rumours, blue and black colour will be coming as it is but will be according to bs4 norms. Major updates would be done by this year end or early 2018.

                Is it something that is confirmed ? And by major changes do you mean the ABS and colors ? Just asking because I have been waiting for the ABS version since long. I was under the impression that Yamaha won't bring ABS version until 2019 April, which is the deadline given by govt for existing models to be equipped with ABS.

                Had read a few days ago about slipper clutch and inverted forks in the works for R25. Not sure if these things would be put on R3 any sooner as it would increase the price even more.

                And thanks to the KA govt, for the increased (18%) road tax which makes it costlier by 20K more already.

                I have been "stalking" this thread ever since R3 was launched, but not sure when I will finally be able to get one.

                  Checked with dealer, for now they are not aware of blue colour being discontinued. They have placed order with Yamaha for two blue models last week. Not everybody prefers black, it's difficult to maintain than other colours.

                      Bike manufacturers will have to fit abs/cbs by 2019 for all existing models. For all new models going to be launched after April 2018 abs/cbs is mandatory.

                        That's what I wrote in the bold part, since the R3 is already in market, 2019 deadline applies.

                          Not really, R3 bikes made & sold after 1st April 2018 should have ABS.

                                I like both, told dealer to give me whichever I like first in the month of April.
                                Additionally, they are ready to reduce helmet price as I don't want it. They are nice people to talk to, unless somebody from the forum had different experience.
                                Secondly, answering another comment on forum, it doesn't make sense to wait 2 years for abs version of r3. Instead do an FD, save a little and go for higher CC bike.
