Yes I have zero dep full insurance, but still i wanted a slider for protection. But anyday the Puig ones looks awesome.

      Just finished my first service:

      Km done - 628.
      Complaints: None

Observations: Oil seemed real dark brownish. Didnt find metal. Viscosity seemed good, could have been usable for a few thousand km atleast.
Engine note changed a bit again. Now its even more bassy and with a lot of grunt.

Next service would be 180 days aka 6 months later. Spotted a bit of rusting. Will be treated with WD 40

Which one would be easier to cosmetically maintain. Black or blue? Love the black but i have an ocd and cannot bear to see scratches so i am confused..

Black is one of beautiful colors when it comes to vehicle application. The gloss, the shine, the shimmer they produce when taken care of properly is class apart. But the red herring "the gloss" "the shine" the shimmer" means one has to take extra care, as black color is prone to show surface scratches visibly and excellently when looked a little closer. Though from distance they look good, a closer look can say a lot about the bike's care characteristics, especially in black. Black and Red are one of the hardest colors to maintain and to get that beautiful shine and shimmer one has to really pay attention.

              Cheers!

              The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

What's the highway fuel economy if ridden in economic speeds? It'd be helpful if I knew the city mileage too after the run in and first service.

Now who would do that, on an R3 ?

Highway fuel economy we are getting is 35+ if ridden in optimum rpms. The city fuel economy after first service is around 25.

                        Update:

Had a tip over in the office parking.
Lost balance over a bump as I forgot to release the side stand. Bike fell on the right side slowly. No scratches(Thank God!!) except a small one on the right front fork.

                        Things learned:
                        1. A side stand indicator is sorely missed. I was lucky I fell when the bike was stationary. Really missed my duke which did not start if the side stand was engaged. It would have been great if Yamaha had given this safety system in the R3.

                        2. The bike is too darn heavy to pick up if fallen. Lucky a guy helped me pick it up. I thank God again that I had the puig frame sliders which did not allow the bike to crush my leg.

                        3. The bike shuts off the ignition if tilted beyond a certain angle. That's a nice safety feature. Also no fluids spilled over thankfully.

                        4. Frame sliders protect your fairings and your leg in case of tip overs.

                        5. The right indicator came out and was dangling. I fixed it by pushing it in the slot and it was good to go again.

                        Ride safe everyone!
