If I leave the handlebar, the bike sways to the left. The left fork was adjusted today but that has not solved the problem.
Let me know who are you in touch with Yamaha for this. Want to see if replacing the clip-on solves the problem.
Changing the clipon wont solve the problem of bike going to left.
In my bike, the right clip-on was nearer to the tank than the left one.
Thats why getting the right clip-on replaced.
There definitely is issue with triple clamp/else.
Please raise your concern with Yamaha directly.
As the same issue is present in many of the bikes, Yamaha should take it seriously and that can be achieved with more no. of official complaints.

My feeling is that RHS bent clip on should cause the bike to veer to the right and not left.
Have you got the fork oil checked like @kuntalnag did? Improper oil level in one fork also causes this drifting.
Bent clip-on is getting replaced, so fine with that.
Did not check the fork oil level yet, will get it checked then.
I will follow up once the clip-on gets replaced.
P.S.

kuntalnag: How long back was the fork adjusted? Mine was adjusted at first service but the play came back after a few hundred kms.

1. While taking a sharp U turn, is your right hand/wrist touching the fuel tank ?
In my case, the wrist was touching the tank on right side but not on left side, ideally it should not. As if wrist or hand is blocking the movement,
it maylead to mishap while taking a U turn
2. Is your bike going on straight line or swaying towards right/left while both the handle bars are unattended ?
If not straight, then issue.
If you face any of these issues, you can raise a complaint. The gap can be little different on right/left side because of the fuel tank size as well(but ideally it should not though).
The fork was adjusted just last Friday.

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
hand touching tank while U-turn is not proper measurement. infact my Gt250R handle just 5mm free space when turned full at one side from tank. in showroom they teach you to take U-turn on such sporty bikes, like how to hold handle.
coming to point,
1.keep the bike in center-stand/paddlock stand
2. turn the handle bar all the way to right side till it reaches the limit
3. take a ruler/scale for measurement and check how much gap is left from handlebar end to tank , measure in inches
4. repeat the same for left side.
5. compare the results , both should be exactly the same.
Due to R3 trepple-tee clamp design , where the keyhole is designed to bend on right side , you guys might feel its slightly turn towards to right side, but as we know it shouldn't be the case, prob'ly your minds playing tricks :P

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
It is problem when one side touches the tank but other side does not.
Also the gap might not be same beacuse of the allignment of the Fuel tank itself(told by Yamaha guys). Ideally it should though.
So we need to check if the bike is moving properly or not(i.e. swaying to left/right) and also whether its creating any issue to the rider or not(wrist touching the tank one side and blocking the movement of handle bar).
@chetan6686: then you are good.sigpic

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Owners, I have a query. I am looking to buy a R3, however all the R3s I rode till today had a stiffer gear box. The upshifts do not happen with a click, rather feels very stiff, while the downshifts are perfect. Can owners confirm if this is a trait of the R3. Thanks in advance.

Faced the issue plenty times on my few days with krish2778 's R3. I also dint feel much has changed after the servicing as well.
But again thats just getting used to.Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..
