A few other parts also seems to be there for a worldwide recall. So far Indonasia and USA have started this i think. Smething about front brake hose and some other parts.
I do not have the links to these , hence didi not post here.

      Cheers

That's great to know. So, it's the fuel tank bracket and the main switch sub assembly. People who fall in the recall category, kindly do snap some pics and post them here, as to the old part and what was changed.

        Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
        The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

        THE END

Thanks for the information Chandan. Just checked and looks like my bike falls in the recalled lot. Month of manufacture for my bike is 09/2016 is per RC book. I will fix an appointment with the dealer for the change and will also post some pictures here when done.

Dude. Service centre is a real pain in the rear right now.. they dont have any showrooms in lucknow region. only in delhi NCR. how do you expect to solve problems if any when they arise.. Kawasaki or Honda or Yamaha.. no machine is failure proof so a good service centre is a must.

KTMs are still servicing Ninja. Let's hope for the best in future.

Yes this is for error 19 permanent solution which some owners were facing.

Service center just confirmed that they received "sub switch" & a "bracket", in 2 boxes. Need to see what they are.

So it has been 3 days now and there has been no response from Yamaha regarding the testride of the R3. This is quite unfortunate for Yamaha. the whole marketing team should be sacked for the way things have been going on since the last few years.

I can really relate to your frustration. Yamaha showrooms here in Pune also doesn't know how to sell and serve customers looking for premium bikes. They behave as if they are doing us a favor by spending their valuable time. And personally I have never been impolite or impatient with them.

However I have heard stories from few people here about the impeccable service they have received in places like Bangalore. So it boils down to the dealership I guess.

Bro, I will recommend keeping it cool as it is a big dream purchase. Don't let the fools selling it impact your decision of the bike, once you get your hands on the bike this will all be past. [emoji4]

Yeah but the problem is how to get hands on a bike.. should i blindly just trust Yamahas words and brand image to get a bike which has had 2 recalls till date and has a pathetic dealership network for R3?

You will have a big headache if any such issue is to occur, always good to have a reliable service network at least worst case 100kms away.

Exactly. The mechanics i dont think are trained at every dealership. guess The Ktm gets this one from me. They do have dealerships everywhere and mechanics are trained on only 2 vehicles so they should be competent enough. If only the heat dessipation was better.. But then nothing is perfect.

Also just got a call from Yamaha regarding a different complaint and i took the opportunity to inquire about the R3 and he "explained" it was a "Premium sportsbike" and test rides are not given as per company directives and only at dealers discretion.. so that pretty much ends the whole decision making process. Guess KTM it is. Thank you everybody for the valuable inputs. Bangalore guys you are the luckiest bunch i swear..
