Was surfing internet yesterday and found one funny thing about MOJO.

Look at the design, speedo of Benelli TNT 899 which they are using for last 13 years and the speedo of recently launched MOJO.

              Hi Everyone

I would appreciate any assistance with my query ASAP. I have been looking to buy the Mojo for quite some time. However, i was reluctant to plonk down the cash for a new one. Now though I have got a chance at getting myself a used Mojo and I would be grateful if existing owners can answer my queries.

The bike is a 2016 model Mojo which has run 7000kms. The points of primary concern (from my limited exposure to the bike in the form of ownership threads and test rides) are :

              1. Has anyone experienced engine knocking (or engine clatter) in this bike. Also does the fuel pump whistle during rides (I am not talking about the fuel pump whistle on startup).
              2. What is the expected life of the brake pads . Owners in another forum had complained of them wearing out in 2000 kms. Is this still the case?

Both the above issues were reported by owners on another forum and I would like to know if Mahindra resolved these by now.

              3. Expected life of the Pirellis and their cost of replacement. Also the cost for other options like Michellins.
              4. Reasonable price for a Mojo is used condition (2016 model, used for 6 months and run 7000kms) in Bangalore.
              5. Routine service interval and costs for the same.
              6. Coverage that is given under the extended warranty scheme by Mahindra.

Sorry for the multiple questions but I would like to make sure that I can handle the maintenance expenditure for the bike if something comes up. Is there anything else that I might need to check to see if the bike has been abused beyond its capabilities (I am getting the bike checked out at the service centre..but even then).

I am going to answer these to the best of my knowledge. Others, please correct me if this is incorrect.

                      1) The gears are taller as compared to a normal commuter bike. You just have to learn to adjust to this bike. Avoid riding at low RPMs. I normally maintain the bike at 4k to 6k RPM when driving in the city. I do get what you are referring to about the whistle. The salesguy told me that it is the Radiator fan. Thinking about it, I have to speak with some service personnel about this.

                      2) My bike is new and do not know the answer to this. If not satisfied with stock ones, use an aftermarket one.

                      3) Pirellis would cost around 5k for the front tyre and 7k for the back tyre. The one at the back will wear out first and would normally last for 10000 to 13000 kms based on driving habits. A member in this forum is using Michellin Pilot Street tyres and they seem to work pretty good and it only costs half as much.

                      4) I suck at this. May be around 1.5 to 1.6 L????

                      5) First service is at 1000 kms or 1 month. Subsequent services are at 6000 kms or 6 months. I was told average cost would be around 2200.

                      6) Default is 2 years. 5 years with extended warranty. Not sure about the kms.

Thanks man for your answers. On the last question I didn't state my doubt correctly. The Mojo relationship manager did say that the coverage is 5y/72000 kms. However, what i meant to ask was what exactly is covered under the warranty. I mean are the terms and conditions like the 2 years warranty itself (for example does it cover any manufacturing defects, premature wear and tear of components etc). Could you please clarify that too if possible. Once again thanks.

I took test drive today and it looks awesome and ride is very good. I am in love with this bike.

It seems it's the bike I was waiting very smooth power delivery yes but braking is which is bit different, they say it's progressive braking I feel it work like drum brakes.

And about warranty it covers engine and gearbox.

                            Hey Guys !!!

I have been following the thread religiously for long time , You guys have been so helpful in giving your insights and sharing experiences about "MOJO" . I thank you for that .... Coming to the Bike , I have been following Mojo since its Hound from hell design that's the 2010 version !!!, I test rode the Mojo about three moths ago and I was happy with bike riding comfort and for the huge bike , while riding it didn't feel the weight ... I was in two minds regrading the ABS version of the bike as well , but Today I am thinking about taking second test ride of Mojo , to understand the bike better and come to a decision !!

Government regulation to make ABS mandatory comes into effect only in 2018.

While other manufacturers have woken up keeping customer safety first, mahindra, RE and hero are sleeping and waiting for it come into effect..

Don't know about RE and Hero, but Mahindra is working on ABS. It will take some time, coz testing is to be done. But they are working.
