There is another product which is ~15K cheaper and promises
    - Cheaper spares
    - More power
    - Cheaper maintenance costs.
Its the NS200, which again has some problems.
    - EuroSlips tires

Thinking of these. Don't know when i will take the plunge and buy one.
    1) Tough to imagine FZ 25 being modified for higway comfort with such a compact frame.
    2) I suppose the riding position of RS 200 makes it less suitable for longer rider (Owners, please consider it an opinion and disregard).
    3) NS 200 can be your pick as tires can always be changed to meet your choice, if the rest of it is meeting your demands (and if it were built for the long haul).
    4) Honestly, your heart looks set on Duke anyway. So, if/when you take the plunge, I think that will be it.

Before I get scolded for diverting the main focus, I must switch back to a thread-relevant question and that's about the Mojo.

I've been in contact with the Mojo dealer in Bhopal (M. P.) for a test ride.
Is there any Tribes(wo)man from Bhopal, who can advise about the dealer (Mr. Nikhil Arora) and their experience?

    Regards,
    KM

        Good evening riders.
I've been in Vizag for 2 years, bought my mojo here 3 months ago.. Clocked 2900 km as on date. I've been transferred to Kochi and I'm scheduled to move in Jan. I initially planned to make the journey by my car, however now I've decided to make the trip on the mojo. It's about 1500 km. Haven't done such a long ride on a bike before. I would need suggestions for you all on the journey, route, gear etc. Would be of great help. Thanks in advance.

Guys anyone can help me here please...

I am looking for a test ride in chennai. DP motors in tambaram doesnt have test ride bike neither they have stock of new models. According to dealer it will be bought in based on order. I tried calling few other numbers in google all of them landed in service center and none of them were helpful in providing a contact number for sales.

Mojo owners please help me identifying dealers in chennai with test vehicle with them...

Helmet, Riding jacket, kneeguards/riding pants, gloves and proper hard sole shoes/riding shoes.
Apart from this, you would need only chain lube (every 500kms), nothing else.

Also, that route is lil crazy, plan to ride only daytime.
Be the change you want to see in other Riders!

                Hello bro...

I am shocked to hear this regarding the test drive vehicle.

Actually, 3 or 4 months back I took the test ride of the mojo on the same showroom which is in sanitorium. That time, one of the showroom/service person has taken the bike somewhere and the showroom person have asked to wait till it comes. To our luck, that guy took the bike back in 10 mins. Then proceeded with the test drive for 20 mins atleast due to the love and feel when I rode it for the first time. Try and pressurize him for the test drive bike, because in chennai we only have one showroom for Mojo and you cannot get the test ride back anywhere.

                Hope this helps.

                Happy Biking !!

A prospective buyer here and really hoping the Mojo dream becomes reality.

I hate how the manufacturers, nowadays, replace metal with plastic parts to make bike light and fast (!); even the fuel tank enclosure is no exception.
With Mojo, though, as eccentric as I thought it looked in the beginning, I am willing to take the plunge. But, there are a few troublesome questions and I request your help.

I think some/many of the questions are covered here and there throughout the threads and I'm still putting them forth for the latest views.

Suitability: I'm in early Thirties, 5-foot and 9 inches tall, with a slender build (less than 70 kg). I am a sedate rider (Just as Captain Slow from "Top Gear"). My daily commute is 75 kilometres in Mumbai, consisting of bad quality, pothole-filled roads. Some respite may be provided for about 25% of the travelling distance, where there is freedom to speed. There may be an occasional weekend ride with the wife. Given the mostly hot and humid weather, is it worth considering the Mojo, in terms of the mileage, durability and pillion room?

The price: Most important point, perhaps! Honestly, I have been thinking of buying a bike, since before Mojo was launched; however, I couldn't just 'settle' with a Pulsar or Gixxer or Hornet or Unicorn, because the "money-to-comfort" equation never matched (KTMs are not my cup of tea). I would by Fazer 150, if it weren't for the puny tank capacity and felt the price tag was too much for its features. Costing INR 220000 (or more), although Mojo's worth its price, this is going to be the second largest investment of my life and there's obvious resistance from the 'folks'. It's almost the same price one would pay for a small car and hence they are not really supportive. To be blunt, is the investment worth ignoring them?

Durability/Reliability: I don't like changes, am still using a Third generation iPod touch device (that I bought in 2009). So, can I trust Mojo to be my companion even after my child completes their high school (which is not going to be for another 13 years)?

Resale: If I am being rude or ridiculous or out of line, please excuse me. But, just in case I accumulate debts and need to sell my assets including the beloved Mojo, can I rely on it to fetch some of the investment back?

Modifications: I am keen on adequate visibility at night, clean (read "mud-free") rear for pillions and less/no heat directed at the rider. I gather from the posts that there may be more than normal heating experienced in slow traffic and fog lamps are highly recommended. If I instead replace the stock headlights with more powerful ones (perhaps LEDs), what is the maximum power rating it can take before straining/damaging the battery?

Service: I know many owners travel more distances. For me, the nearest service centre is 25+ kilometres and I'd like to know if the servicing takes overnight. I mean, like in a Hero or Honda station, there are tenths of bikes coming in for servicing every day, which means the wait is more. Does it take long to complete the routine service for Mojo?

Only these for now; if I think of more, I'll come back later.

                  Regards,
                  KM
Suitability: You bring a good point about body weight. I'm 5 10" but weigh (not obese) about 92 kg. Including my wife its around 150kg or so, but even then also it pulls strongly. It has some great torque in its first 3 gears. But 75kms might get a little tough I suppose. I do 50 kms and it has been ok for me. Mix of good/bad roads but as far shock absorbers go, Mojo is probably the best in class.

Sathish (gsknocks) gave me few contact numbers, but before i could call them DP motors called me for a test ride. Gonna do that tomorrow. Looks like Sathish spoke to Karthik in mahindra and he personally called me to arrange for test ride. Overwhelmed already by the service from Mahindra. And thank you Sathish for the help.

That is really great. Karthick from mahindra is a nice guy. When I had doubts about going with Mojo, he called me personally and explained all the doubts I have and we nearly spoke for good 40 mins.

There are bunch of nice guys in mahindra to support with the issues which we have. No matter if is a small doubt or a big one.

Go ahead tomo, spend some time with the bike and feel it by yourself. I test ride bike which I rode was a first gen mojo which is a red and white model, not sure whether they have the same bike for test ride even now, if it is so, dont be amazed with the poor brake response from the bike, it has all been sorted out now with the newer model and the seat has also been expanded unlike the older model. So have fun.

And do me a favor if possible, when I inquired, the OR price of the bike is 2L for standard edition and 2.20L for the tourer edition. Get me the current quote and paste it here if possible.

Thanks in advance bro. Have fun.

                          Update on test ride.
Had a very short test ride today. Unfortunately by the look of the bike didnt feel like riding though. Oil dripping from the pistion head was the first sight. Anyway...took it half hearted and found gear shifting hard, bike just vibrates in every gear. Loved the seating and the pick up aggressive after 4.5k rpm mark. Bit disappointed, DP motors informed me that the test ride bike was bs3 model and it is from 2014 model. I understand these are common issues in all the test ride bikes, but whats worrying is this bike just went for service last friday. Which makes me worry how the quality of service will be. On the otherhand i also tried dominar, did exactly the same distance ( both mahindra and baja are few meters apart). Bike felt smooth and easy. But it heats like hell. Now confused. Have 2 weeks to decide, which one of these beauty will be mine.

I have the first gen Mojo with me and I am going to complete 2 years in Feb 2018 with the bike. It’s engine is super smooth and bibe free even now, front brake was a problem initially but when the master cylinder was replaced with the version that comes with the current gen bikes, its just perfect. Gear shifts are precise and smooth. Quality of service atleast in bangalore is top notch, not sure about other places. Don’t judge by the condition of test drive bikes, the bike is reliable and amazing for touring.

I am 5 foot 8 inch tall and around 75kg. Coming from a 150cc bike (honda dazzler), I had difficulties handling the bike initially. In two weeks I got used to it and now with close to 2 years with the bike, I can say that the bike is super comfortable and never had any problems with handling the bike after that initial period. To be frank I am uncomfortable on any lighter bikes now. I am almost 28 now 🙂 thats on suitability.

Price - there are other VFM products like dominar, but for the fit and finish and the equipment, I would still be ok to pay that price. I got the bike though for the launch price and worth ignoring the comments.

Durability / reliability - top notch. In close to 2 years, I never had any mechanical problems. Engine is silky smooth even now. However, I listen to the bike and do small maintenance like chain tensioning, clean, lube and stuff like that. Stock battery is probably the only unreliable thing on the bike, I am not sure even the new ones come with the same tata made battery. I have replaced it. Replaced rear tyre, chain sprocket set (which only cost 2k !!!), and rear brake pads till now due to wear.

Resale - Don’t know, better to check in sites like OLX to see the quotes. From what I have seen, not so great.

Mods - yes, it heats up in extremely slow, stop and go traffic. But most bikes do. Headlights are pathetic, reflectors spred the light and so adding more powerful lights may not help. Fog lamps come from Mahindra and they are pretty good.

Service - I normally get my bike the same day if I give it in the morning in Bangalore. However other places that may vary depending on the number of service centres there and number of bikes sold there.

                              Hope this helps.

To add to reliability part - Sarath Shenoy aka Mojo Baba completed 100000 kms on his karthyayini (mojo of course) in around 2 years time. He and the bike has participated in all the mojo trails, twice in raid de himalaya (considered as second most tough riding event in the world), and numerous other trips, national and international. This just reinforces how reliable the bike is.

On mileage - I get around 25 in bangalore city. When riding solo on highways long, gives just over 30 kmpl. With pillion and considerable luggage (2 saddle bags heavily loaded plus loaded tank bag and shoulder bags) I got 27kmpl on a highway ride that was 430 odd kms.
