Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Thanks bro..... I'm thinking about installing led headlamp..... Will change wiring to dc... Also I'm thinking about changing turn indicator to led ones... Stock turn indicators use 10watt eachOriginally posted by vaRider View PostHey buddy
Battery compartment of hornet is fixed size and it can only contain 4 Ah battery. If you can get 🔋 having more power at same size, then you can easily install it.
Let's know in that case!
Please install LED lights as I have done already. See my previous posts about that..

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hey guys check this gear indicator out.... Can this be installed on the hornet...???
*
*
Blue*LED Universal Digital Gear Indicator Motorcycle Display Shift Lever Sensor* Motor Bike
*
Features:
Shows current gear number
Indicates current gear from 1 to max of 8. as well as a neutral indicator.
Auto programming
Compatible with all motorbikes, four wheelers, bikes etc. will fit anything with a shift lever
Red illuminated display will automatically dim at night.
Detects the current gear faster than other gear indicators that use speedometer/tachometer signal.
Display can be mounted anywhere
How it works?
A small magnet mounted on the gear shift lever moves past the upshift and downshift sensor as shifts occur. The shift signals are then sent to the display, where the current gear number is shown.
Why do i need gear indicator?
How many times do you find yourself trying to upshift on the highway just to find out that you are already in thetop gear, or try to downshift only to find out you are already in first gear? How often do you get asked what gearyou were in around a tight corner? These are just a few examples of the usefulness of this gear indicator.
Installation guide:
Black cable is for -
Red cable is for +
White cable is for neutral (0)
Yellow cable is for the first sensor cable1,
green cable is for the 2nd sensor cable 1
Blue is for the other cables of sensor 1 and 2 together.

*
Package Includes:
1 x Digital Gear Indicator(Red Display)
1 x Instructional Sheet

But instead of all such wiring it's better to give attention on how engine runs and responses. No gear indicator can help to give you correct judgment of gears in that condition...Ride hard, Ride safe! :D

It should work on hornet, on any bike perhaps.Originally posted by adityagaur51 View PostI know bro...

But what about all that wiring hanging around bike? It'll just cause obstruction or may cut off.. that panel doesn't look sturdy. Where would you fit it on bike so that it stays there on all kinds of roads.
If someone snatches it or if it gets pulled, the whole assembly would go off!Ride hard, Ride safe! :D

Yeah that's a valid point... It's generally used in faired motorcycles....Originally posted by vaRider View PostIt should work on hornet, on any bike perhaps.

Would drop the idea...

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
It's caused by rapid downshift to neutral while in moving .Even once if attempted. Whenever I lend bike to rookie learners they break my neutral switch resulting oil leaks the next day.[emoji19]Originally posted by anoopkumar0 View PostUpdate: This is fixed.
At ASC, mechanic directly told that it's neutral switch (Some spring is busted).
Replacement part: Contact AssyNeutral Switch - 35759-K38-901 , Price: INR. 50
Should be following part, I am not sure.

Also, I found out a bolt is missing which joint silencer near breaks. Got it fixed.
@vaRider , That's strange oil leak from top of washer.

That's something new.
I am driving same with last 10K Kms.
Another argument is because of Motul 300v. As, it didn't happen on Honda Mineral oil till 7.5K ODO.------------------

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Happened with me after 18000 km post service. Since the showroom where the bike was serviced was not having the part- they had applied kind of bond to seal inner part- leakage has stopped. Part will be replaced at next service. There is a rubber seal which got melt as told by service advisor.Originally posted by anoopkumar0 View Post.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
As long as the viscosity grade of the engine oil is within the recommended range, nothing will happen. Also the oil itself does not influence the leak. There must be problem with your casing and bolt tightening. Just because you switch from Dino oil to Ester based oil does not mean that the oil will start seeping through a properly sealed casing.Originally posted by anoopkumar0 View Post.

yes it can be done, get it to a proper mechanic. And having a gear indicator increases your precision gear shifting and emergency recovery. Its more useful than you think. Anyone who says otherwise probably has never ridden a bike with a gear indicator.Originally posted by adityagaur51 View PostI know bro...

I am not sure. Till now people said about getting washer bad due to oil. Yes, same grade oil should not harm anyway.------------------

Just use some logic here. If thats what people are saying then its the Washer's quality thats bad not the oil...Originally posted by anoopkumar0 View PostI am not sure. Till now people said about getting washer bad due to oil. ASC mechanic also didn't give any conclusive answer
