For proper run-in always go with mineral oils. Change oil once you have completed 5000kms on the odo.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hello guys, I am new to this forum. I have some questions about Honda hornet.
I have noticed that some users of this bike complained about oil leaking issue. Is it a serious issue to consider? And also, some users have complained issues like engine harshness, false shifting etc. Are these serious issues? Please give some information about these issues because I am planning to buy one within next week. If they are, I have to put my attention about buying a gixxer.

If you go to gixxer forum , some of them facing leak from Engine which very serious similar to Enfield.
One guy has mentioned he so frustrated that he want burn his bike because this issue to get insurance.
For Hornet, In general people face harshness till 5k or 6k odo but later it very smooth. Here, harshness is not that bad , it just not smooth as HONDA standard.
I have read two CBR 250 owner on Quora, and they praised the bike.
Do yu hear bikes rattling sound in traffic. There is none so far in Hornet. My bike is 1 yar and 4 month with 11k ODO.
I see lots of Gixxers on road so does very poorly reviewed Pulsurs . Getting lots of sites of Hornet these days.
To be fair, All bikes have hit or miss. Some get caught with bad copy. Do a test yourself and decide. For me, If I had to buy bike now for more than 1Lakh, I would better look for abs option. Like RTR 200. But again there is mileage consideration.------------------

A little question again. Have you fixed neutral switch twice? What may be the reason for this again and again happening oil leak?

I will go later in this week to ASC. I will let you know.
One of our fellow Xbphian told that this is because of sudden gear shifting to neutral. I will let you know what ASC explains about it.
Do you see oil spot under bikes and in parking, its same issue. I see there are same issue with some of Activa too.------------------

But I have to say that this is not accepted for a company like Honda. They have drastically reduced their product quality in recent time.
Imagine, you are on a long journey with your new bike and suddenly you spotted oil leak.
I have to consider it as a serious issue. I really love the looks of this bike and I have big respect for the brand name "Honda". That's why I planned to buy this. But these weird issues take me down.

Well, this is not such big issue. Oil leak is not going to drain in even in a 15 days and apparently no leak on main stand. But yeah it has to fix as early.Originally posted by Amila View Postthanks bro, really appreciate it.

For me main drawback is poor quality switches.
Go for bike you like. Don't compromise on your terms and your money.
In recent time RTR 200 and Fz25 are great option. RTR 200 with abs would be great in terms of safety. Exhaust node of RTR 200 is just awesome.------------------

+1. My vote goes to FZ25.Originally posted by anoopkumar0 View PostIn recent time RTR 200 and Fz25 are great option. RTR 200 with abs would be great in terms of safety. Exhaust node of RTR 200 is just awesome.

Came as a shock to me too. I had a very strange problem which is present in an entire lot received in the showroom I bought my bike from. You can check the details in my blog post. It's disheartening. My 16 years old Activa feels more robust now.Originally posted by Amila View PostBut I have to say that this is not accepted for a company like Honda. Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hey guys,
Just chill and don't worry about these small issues.
Even I faced a oil leak and then it was fixed by changing the neutral switch washer.
I have now completed 20 K kms and got the service done today.
Engine is butter smooth but still the gear shift is stiff and is a mystery to solve.
I have started living with it now.
So just look at the positives and enjoy.
Happy and safe riding.Last edited by Venkatesh Prakash; 05-24-2017, 12:36 AM.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Actually they have no intention to do so. They don't even intend to sell bikes since here the bikes sell themselves by badging the name.Originally posted by Amila View PostHonda have to listen more to the feedbacks of the customers....
You should see the showrooms in Pune. It's outrageous how they treat customers here. At one point I wondered whether I was there begging for a free vehicle or what.
Of course, as soon as I had that realization, I went to another showroom.
I really hope that their sales figures decline enough to create some serious competition. Because without competition, I don't see how their attitude could ever change.Last edited by iamkrazee; 05-25-2017, 02:41 PM.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Good luck with that.Originally posted by raktimroy121 View PostI am planning to upgrade my stock headlamp without voiding the warranty. Any suggestions regarding that?
In my opinion, upgrading headlamp won't work well unless you upgrade to LED headlight or 55W bulb. The thing is the reflector design in hornet headlight is poor.
So it'll not give expected illumination unlike other bikes with same bulb.
My suggestion is to go with auxiliary.Ride hard, Ride safe! :D
