Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
It's fine. You don't need to flush the old oil or wait for it to drain that long.Originally posted by Ananda View PostMy Odo crossed 12500 KMs.
Last weekend I changed to Motul 10W30 FS oil. Changed air filter. There are no striking changes but throttle response is good and bike is eager for a dash. Note of engine has changed and now sounds very much like Honda. I don't feel that familiar heat radiation on legs during longer rides.
One thing which I am worried about is the mechanic didn't allowed old engine oil to drain even for 5 minutes and did not flushed. When I asked he said its ok. Is this right or some spoilsport ?

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Yes. I revisited my order. It says hybrid engine oil. Then it should be semi synthetic. Alas I have to wait 2000 more kms to change FS oil.Originally posted by baymax View PostMotul doesn't have 10w30 fs oil. They have only 10w40 fs.
Their 10w30 is either mineral or semi synthetic.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
There is something called "Piston Glazing" which you don't want to happen. You can search for it. Which is why its best to vary the engine RPM during run-in. I don't know about Hornet, but Gixxer's manual clearly states that. The best way to do is to vary the engine speed, use engine breaking (really helps to put decent load in the engine to assist in run-in) and best to stick to the RPMs specified in the user manual till you complete the run in period completely. Trust me, this actually matters a lot. "Occasional" bursts are not bad.Originally posted by iamkrazee View PostWhy not? Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hornet official top speed is 106.Originally posted by REMOAS150 View PostHi can I know the top speed of hornet ?
But one can reach greater top speed by aggressive gear shifting and holding hornet in top rpm range for longer.
It can reach 115 that way. If you hold throttle for even longer it may reach 120 on plain roads.
But due to meaty rear tyres, speed is limited compared to other bikes such as Hero Xtreme and Apache 160. Even Unicorn 160 runs at 110 easily.Last edited by vaRider; 04-13-2017, 01:05 PM.Ride hard, Ride safe! :D
