Got adjusted my shocker to 1 step softer at ASC. It is better now.

You need following tool which come with CBR250 in toolkit.

It's very simple to do it. If anyone have CBR250 bike or similer mono-shock high end bike. You can use the tool. Just don't go directly from hardest to softest as video said.

Problem: Service centers doesn't have it. At least in my area, biggest service center don't have it or they will tell you that it is missing somewhere
or they will try to convince you, stock setting is best.

This time when I went to ASC for my air filter, I saw a CBR 250 in service center. I asked "head" guy to adjust my shocker. He initially tried his best to not do it but later agreed to take out tool from CBR250 and adjust it.
Again, he was said to be senior mechanic and he didn't know if he is rotating to hard or soft setting.

    It's counter-clockwise softer.

With soft setting, bike is is handling path-holes much better. Specially for pillion.
But, with softer setting bike needs to handle with a bit more care after path-hole. As weight is still moving.

Conclusion: If you are driving on smooth road stick with hard setting. One or two path holes are manageable with better control. Anyway, you can ask them to revert setting anytime if you don't like it.

      That's great info! Thank you.
Even I had thought of adjusting to softer but generally I ride alone in Mumbai city and the roads are good.
So it's better with hard for good handing.

        .
        Yes,
I mostly ride with pillion. After soft setting I feel little wobbling (More time for spring compression time) as compare to hard one. But this is matter of getting adjusted.
If you are feeling it hard and riding alone. Try once on softer setting.
On hard setting little path holes feel very hard on back .

Yeah right. Potholes are big issue on hard suspension. It really hurts!
Mainly felt during weekend rides! At such time it feels like some part is gonna get loose and break off! [emoji29] [emoji21]

            Hello riders
I had an accident and got scratches on the left side of the bike.

this is the basic quote i received from Honda ASC.

I want to confirm how the left part of tank will be replaced

as it is chiseled and not like other bikes like fz.
I asked the service guy and didn't get satisfying reply as he said we may have to break it and attach the new one on left side.

First, hope your ok. Life is more precious than a machine.

About the tank, the cover (the 'chiseled' part) is made of fiber just like FZ/Gixxer and can easily be replaced.

Yes, life is more precious and am thankfull to god that i didn't have any injury. (Have small cuts on knee and elbow skin).
About the tank i have read in many reviews that tank of hornet is chiseled and its not like other bikes.
What is the concept of chiseled tank in hornet?

It's just the shape and styling of the fiber tank cover which looks appealing, hence 'chiseled'.

The actual metal tank is covered by the 2 tank cowls (covers) and the matte finish fibre middle portion.

.. or removed! I have a friend who's removed the entire thing. Doesn't look nice, but man it's quiet! No "squeaks" when going through pot holes, no niggles or rattles.

I had checked the mileage of my bike after second servicing itself.
By then, it was somewhere between 44 to 48 kmpl.
I used to drive with tyre pressure 25 and 30.

Now I have done all the three free services, plus one more servicing outside the authorized service center.
But this time I've changed the tyre pressure to 30 (front) and 40 (rear), just to check the difference in riding comfort.
I also checked the mileage again, by reserve to reserve method.
This time it is 51 kmpl.

I clocked 102 kms in 2 liters, out of which approximately 55 to 60kms were on a highway.
And remaining were in the heavy traffic of Pune.

So what might have caused this increase in bike's mileage ?
The change in tyre pressure or the highway ride ?

                        Hello guys,
I have checked the mileage again.
As soon as my bike went into reserve mode, I had filled 3 litre petrol.
Reading on the meter was 3752km.
Today, it again went into the reserve mode.
Reading on the meter now is 3866kms.
So basically, the mileage this time is 38 kmpl.
All the run was in Pune city with the tyre pressure 30 (front) and 32 (rear).
What should I do now to get the better mileage ?

Be happy and a reason will come along !

Hey bro, please do not fill air pressure to 40psi. It may cause problem in handling, or a tyre burst in worst case. To improve mileage, avoid sudden brakes/throttle modulation and keep engine rpm under 5k. Since Hornet is tall geared bike, maintain proper gears to avoid lugging of the engine.
A well lubed/slack adjusted chain will help to reduce rolling resistance resulting in better mileage.
Cleaning air filter may also help in easy breathing.

I've already stopped filling more than 35psi.
As I said, I am running on 30 and 32psi now.
To be honest, I don't think we can avoid sudden braking in city traffic.
And yes, chain is also well lubed and properly adjusted.
Just checked it again with another mechanic today.
Regarding air filter, I will check that today.
                            Thanks for your reply.

Recently Engine oil is leaking from Drain plug. I am on Motul 300v (2500 covered).
I think it started after recent bike wash.
What could be done, tightening the screw by myself?
Or, go to service center to resolve it?
I didn't changed the o-ring while changing to Motul

Correct me if I'm wrong, but 300v is hated by some people for the same reason - oil leaks.

Perhaps some contents of that oil wears down rubber gaskets and seals?

Change the drain plug and see if the issue persists.
