Ohh..
I have to drain and re-fill same oil again .
I have servicing due by next week I will ask ASC to to this.

About the tank i have read in many reviews that tank of hornet is chiseled and its not like other bikes.
What is the concept of chiseled tank in hornet?
Chiseled is just an adjective😂. Purely looks. No difference in composition. It's a fibre tank just like any other bike apart from the metal ones

hey guys i just had changed engine oil after first (approximately 2000kms after first service) through local mechanic.... I'm using Honda 4t .... it's just 800ml... the mechanic said you needed at least 1 ltr of oil... then i went to a trip to Mussoorie(hills in dehradun) ....after 3 days i checked it my self.... it was well below the lower mark... dangerously close to the end of dipstick.... then i myself topped it up with a extra bottle of Honda 4t .... there was little left in the bottle and the mark came to little more than the lower point on the dipstick.... my question is what should be the amount of engine oil we should use???? can we full it till the upper mark of the dipstick....????
also give me some good alternative oil...???

If you completely drain engine oil along with cleaning oil filter and other stuff, then you need 1.2 Litre oil. I had done it once at ASC.

For normal drain and refill 1 litre is enough.

I filled 1.1L with 30mins of draining. Used Mobil-1 5w50 FS, with very pleasing results.

isn't that car oil... won't that be different from recommended 10w30 grade ?????

Yes those grades are differnt.
You can change the grade, but if the recommended grade is XwY, then in the grade of your new oil AwB, A should be less than or equal to X and B should be greater than or equal to Y.

Yes, it is meant for cars. But as I understand it, it serves well for our engines as well. The same oil went into my RE TB, P180 and P150. It has served me well.
I'm no expert on this matter myself, the guy who is usually does these things for me.

And yes, grade is different. But 10w30 grade is fine for Japan where peak temperatures don't cross 30deg C.
Here it's 43 already. So, good ranges for our conditions are 5w50, 10w40.

vimesh, he's right, change it yourself to a better oil.
Honda mineral is not at all suited for Indian conditions.

You could go for Elf/Motul 3000/Motul 5100/Gulf pride 4t 10w30, or if you can source veedol super Swift, you can go for it.

If you're fine with a slight drop in mileage (2-3kmpl) you can go for a 10w40 oil.

Hello guys,
What happens to bike if not used frequently?
I use my bike once in a week or fortnight. In last 2 months, it's been used not more than 30 km..

What care should be taken in such cases.. currently it's parked with parking cover in partial shade..
