Complained to honda again, they asked me to leave my vehicle at the service centre for 3 days, The contact person in the service centre told me that they've found a solution and this issue was only with a few bikes, the "carburetor" was defective, he told me that honda has designed a new carburetor for this kind of vehicle, and he delivered me the bike with a new carburetor,
At first the engine felt smooth but the low end punch was totally missing, the throttle was not much responsive as it used to be.
After a few days, the engine started making hitting sound and the power delivery is jerky [feels like a 3-4 year old 125 cc vehicle].
I feel cheated now because they don't have a proper solution to the problem, if i complain to honda again, they're going to make me agree that my bike is as good as new.

Thought of asking for a total refund or should i approach the consumer court.
Please suggest.
Too bad experience bro...😓
If you can take it to court then please go ahead.

That's really bad Honda service you got... I feel sorry.

Shame on Honda...

Leave the competition to Gixxer, it even can't beat splendor also....
Only a marketing strategy and cosmetic makeover with poor engine...
Yeah even sometimes I feel like that.. Should have gone with Bigger bike.. This doesn't really feel like Honda..

Well now that we've bought this bike, we better cope up with problems and ride...

But in future, I would surely go with better bike and which allows customizations without warranty issues...

Take care

Find out some time and visit Royal Motors, beside Reva PU College, Jaladarshini layout, new BEL road.
Contact the head mechanic (Krishna) and refer my name.

Make him sit with you and understand the problem. Consumer court can be left as a last resort.
Ask him to tune the bike to your taste. Give this a try.

I rode a CBS special edition it was tad lethargic..couldn't feel anything. Later I rode two non-cbs these has awesome feeling and pickup. All test ride. Is the nature of this bike varies from one model to other? I am going to have green special edition next week. I chose it over gixxer due to low groung clearance which is a problem in my city's road condition.

I understand how you feel when one purchase bike with love and this happen....I am worrying now, has honda fixed this problem for their current lots? When did you buy it?

I am the one who is happy with Hornet. Bought the special addition, Green one on 13th sep. And till date had covered 3100 km. Bike has opened up nicely ans today only had touched 105 km speed and throttle still has some juice left. It was just zooming through.

I am a happy customer. I just followed valuable inputs given by our members and manual. now the engine is smooth and powerful. the below two point are the most discussed and is character of this bike. which cannot be coined as shortcomings.

1) first two gears are shorter and has no powerful lower end punch.
2) Switch gear has nothing flattening but serves the purpose.

Headlamp is letdown but alternatives are available which will not void warranty.

This tuk tuk sound is widely mistaken as defect but actually protects the engine. The sound is coming from a spring arrangement which cushions excessive load on particular gear. Service center people explained it to me.

I am completely satisfied with bike. I have covered 6k km in 9 months. I am using for daily commute for office in heavy traffic. Have done 30Km on highway few times.

Pros:
1. Bike is completely balanced. Over the time I am getting more confidence on corners and braking, without getting worried of slip.
2. Zero strain on back and wrist.
3. Pillion comfort
4. Least vibration
5. Feels awesome over 75Kmph speed.

Cons:
1. Control switch are poor.
2. On accelerating, I have to switch great frequently. (Anyway, got adjusted with time).
3. There is power spike in 1st gear, have to use half clutch to control it better. Otherwise pillion will fall.

Things I have done:
1. Proper break-in , 40-50Kmph till first service 900Km.
2. Always started bike in morning with 30-40 sec idle. Though it should be >1min ideally.
3. Switch gear by 4.5K rpm for 4th and 5th.

Call me lazy, I wish but don't even take care of bike. I have take to wash for 3 times only and never cleaned the chain. But I going for final servicing in next month.

For pickup and throttle response issue. Give a try to high RPM gear change. It seems odd, as it looks you are burning engine but that's not the case of Hornet. It is designed this way.

Feeling sad for @tejaw , he is not getting proper service .
@tejaw: the engine started making hitting sound and the power delivery is jerky :

For the same issue, Hero service guy changing carburetor for my 6 year old Hunk.

Hi Ananda, for head light improvement, I am using osram silver star with same wattage. Any other option keeping warranty intact.

What tuk tuk sound? It can't be normal. Svc people often say things which can't be believed. If it is normal, then why aren't many other people experiencing the same?

It is not sound during ride. Change to higher gear at lower RPM and give a rise. Bike will respond but you will hear a springy tuk tuk sound till RPM is balanced. I was speaking about that.

I was scared at the beginning but understood when mechanic explained. Higher Hornets also have similar setup.

Ah that. Lugging. There in every bike. KnoXxX isn't talking about that I guess.
Ananda did you buy osram silverstar for 1000rs?

NainHardeep check for the beam adjustment. Adjust the low beam according to the guide by princesirohi on xbhp.

Osram silverstar is available for 145 /- on Amazon. Throw is undoubtedly better than stock but desire is still left

Apart from beam adjustment you could also replace the pilot lamps with 1W LEDs to reduce the load on the electricals.
