exactly. I ride to Aizawl (Mizoram) every once in 2 months or so, and its really painful to ride with pillion. seems there is no power at all on hilly sections. I had a 220f prior to this. I am thinking to going back to the 220f.

I was also gonna buy, but several reviews suggesting a low-rpm sluggishness made me change my mind. I am not sure if this is specific to a certain number of bikes or all the bikes.Originally posted by KnoXxX View Postexactly. Its engine is the same retuned engine from Unicorn 160. Never heard Unicorn 160 to have that problem.

Yes low RPM till 4k engine is sluggish, after that it comes to life!Originally posted by nnagap72 View PostI was also gonna buy, but several reviews suggesting a low-rpm sluggishness made me change my mind. I am not sure if this is specific to a certain number of bikes or all the bikes.

If you want pickup and performance you may go for Apache 180 .. it's not been upgraded for a while but still is good enough to beat the hell out of others .Originally posted by nnagap72 View PostI was also gonna buy, but several reviews suggesting a low-rpm sluggishness made me change my mind. Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I don't think there is increase in demand,as sales chart shows large decline in past 3-4 months(ie less than 10000 bikes). Waiting period is due to cutting of production of Hornet. And if they are increasing price, then this worst decision by Honda.Originally posted by vaRider View PostGuys, just got information that waiting period for Hornet is now 4 months. Demand is high! Nowadays only dual tone Hornet can be seen. For single disc only 1.15 lac is quoted...
As bike is Value for money if it is coming under 1lakh which gives fair performance and mileage.

IF you are looking for a comfortable, reliable and fuel efficient 150-160cc bike this is for you
If you want advanced instrument cluster, performance, high pickup in lower rpm and can live with lower mileage you can opt for other bikes.
As you are asking about sluggishness in lower Rpm
The answer is-It is not sluggish, but it will take slightly more time to pickup than other bike like gixxers, but after 4k-5krpm pickup is great.
Take a test ride and decide yourself(In my opinion you will not find large difference in initial rpm, take a test ride)
Current odo reading-3500
Average mileage-48-53

Let's see the sales chart for Diwali by month end. Surely, the number is increasing. Friends who test rode it are saying that bike runs smooth.Originally posted by motobiker View PostI don't think there is increase in demand,as sales chart shows large decline in past 3-4 months(ie less than 10000 bikes). So may be new batches are improved.
As far as my experience goes, keeping bike in 3-6k RPM gives very good response and mileage for city ride.Ride hard, Ride safe! :D

Even the CBR 250 "struggles" in hilly sections with pillion, until you take it to 4k rpm. Once you cross 6k rpm, you get to have a nice time in the steep climbs.Originally posted by KnoXxX View Postexactly. Even I ride in ghat section/hilly areas but I ride solo most of the times.Originally posted by KnoXxX View Postexactly. On such roads if bike is kept in power band such as between 4-7k bike wouldn't struggle. This bike is meant to be revved high. If the gearing and engine is set like that, the bike should be used that way.
Each vehicle has some character, play with it and have fun. A true driver shouldn't compare vehicles and expect it to behave that way. If you Rev this bike, believe me nothing else can beat the fun!Ride hard, Ride safe! :D

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Met with an accident. it was rainning heavily and was getting dark, suddenly a pothole came out braked and skidded on the right. tank, headlamp, exhaust damaged. handlebar outt of shape, brake lever scratched, and a knob which stops the handlebar from going further right chipped off the chassis down below where the vin no is on the neck, so now the headlamp hits the tank when turned to the right. oh and helmet also scratched on the chin part. Still annoyed with myself.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Pothole is a big issue. I myself had 2 major accidents because of potholes. And now I have kind off developed a phobia. I never speed unless the road is clearly visible to me and as soon as I see a pothole I drop to speed below 10kmph. When the way is dark I don't go above 30kmph.
