I'm guessing that every single svc is setting the afr to lean for mileage or it's some sort of defect in the carb.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I thought I'm the only one having the issue with the afr ratio.
Till the first service, I didn't notice much about it. A friend of mine noticed the petrol smell from the exhaust. Idle at hot condition was around 1800 and the rpm used to get down very slow (probably rich mixture). When I told the issues at SVC, they changed the carburetor setting.
The mechanic told that he set it lean for mileage, and the issues were gone. But the low-end engine thumping sound which I liked was gone. Now the idle was very low at cold condition, and the pickup response wasn't good. (probably very lean)
So I went to another SVC and told them to set it to factory setting. And after correction, the pickup was improved. But I never got the same low-end thumping sound from the engine as a brand new one. Still not satisfied with the carb settings. Have to find a better SVC.

I think so too. Or else may be they are setting AFR when the engine is very cold. It automatically causes the bike to run lean when hot.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostI'm guessing that every single svc is setting the afr to lean for mileage or some sort of defect in the carb.Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 (2016 - 2017)

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
OMG dude you won't believe this but exact same thing happened with me.. Find my post earlier in this thread. I even posted the pictures after accident. Are you okay?Originally posted by KnoXxX View PostMet with an accident. it was rainning heavily and was getting dark, suddenly a pothole came out braked and skidded on the right. tank, headlamp, exhaust damaged. handlebar outt of shape, brake lever scratched, and a knob which stops the handlebar from going further right chipped off the chassis down below where the vin no is on the neck, so now the headlamp hits the tank when turned to the right. oh and helmet also scratched on the chin part. Still annoyed with myself.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Looks like Honda has messed up the bikes . Maybe this is a manufacturing defect with the carb or some engine part difficult to guess. I bought it around the 1st Oct . When did you guys purchase ur bikes.??

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Dear All, Hornet, bought on 13th September. Clocked 4300 km till date.
Though I am happy and having no issues but these posts are confusing me a lot. Am I missing something or ignoring.
Regarding RPM moving slowly while downshifting, observed yesterday and it is in sync with upshifting. I mean to say, while speed is decreasing, RPM are in same band while they are during upshifting.
Any issue you people wants to inform.

Can u upload video of rpm downfall when the engine is heated up after 10-15 km ...
Take neutral and slightly race the throttle and leave it and record the rpm downfall and the engine sound...
I request all the Hornet owners to do the same and upload the video...

Dont worry. There may not be a problem with your bike. If there was, you would have known instantly.Originally posted by NainHardeep View PostDear All, Hornet, bought on 13th September. Clocked 4300 km till date.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Just arrived from the svc center...
I showed them the bike again and luckily one more hornet owner came there with his bike clocked 830 km and he bought on 25 Oct, I compared it with my bike, the engine sound on my bike was like something is damaged or loose from inside and his bike engine was right and bassy...
I showed the same to svc person and he said that yes there is problem and he will correct in next service..
He says about correcting tappets etc...

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Next service is like in 6months and blv me tappet will not fix the issue. I gave my bike to SVC last time and they changed balancer and stuff worth 2k from engine to fix it but still problem was same .. I am sure they would have adjusted just tappet if that was the case.Originally posted by Ravii View PostJust arrived from the svc center...

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
But why do you want to wait till next service? Ask them to rectify it soon.Originally posted by Ravii View PostJust arrived from the svc center...

And did the other hornet owner had any rpm issues? Any vibrations? Was his bike a special edition one(or bought recently)?
