Yes, 30 km looks a little more. Was the bike at showroom or came from go down?Originally posted by vRide View PostI am happy about owning this bike.. Was Just curious how much it did before the handover to me. That it :-).. And I feel doing 30kms before delivery is too much. Just my view.
It would have been better if you had raised it at the showroom before accepting bike while doing pre delivery inspection. Now not much at hand now since it's sold to you.
When i took test ride for the hornet the test ride bike's meter was also not running, he told battery not connected, they might be doing it purposefully which you are pointing about. It's not a good practice, i hope we could do something about it.

I agree with you, that is because the ECU sends more fuel (auto choke) to the engine when it is cold as it can start easily even in cold regionsNo replacement for an engine Displacement

Bro i said it should not be more than 30. Mine was 17 kms on deliveryOriginally posted by Satyajit Mohanta View PostYes, 30 km looks a little more. Was the bike at showroom or came from go down?

Mine was 17 kms on delivery for the fact that i tooj delivery only after permanent registration number. So it shud have done rounds to RTO.
Yours if RC number then max 10 kms. Anyway. Srry for misunderstanding

Hmm, i also assumed 30 km was the kms on his odo when it was delivered, and replied based on that.Originally posted by Zeit View PostBro i said it should max be 30.

But things looking fishy, why would the odo to be disconnected for a new vehicle, in my case it was around 11 km when it came from their go down, if they disconnected it would have shown 0, if they intend to show 0 on the odo to the customer.
Do they take new bikes to RTO for registration? It was not needed for both my bikes. Once the bike was ready after accessory fitting and washing, i took the bike to home with the temporary number. It would be the same procedure every where i think.Last edited by Satyajit Mohanta; 05-24-2016, 12:35 AM.

Yes. They take bike to rto OR they invite the rto passing officer and their agent to their godown for passing incase a customer wants permanent number. I took delivery after thatv. They fitted the number plate too. I didnt wanted to round up the rtoOriginally posted by Satyajit Mohanta View PostHmm, i also assumed 30 km was the kms on his odo when it was delivered, and replied based on that.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hi everyone.. The bike odo showed 0kms when I took the delivery. If it was showing some 0~4kms it wouldn'nt have been fishy. Since the showroom agents are regular to RTO, I believe they don't take the vehicles to RTO. And I had taken the vehicle on last Saturday before registration(big risk taken-rod from showroom to home and not taken out till now.) since wanted to take the vehicle delivery along with my sister before she goes out of town. I called up the showroom guy yesterday to confirm the registration is done and all docs are ready which he confirmed. So I'll be out on the wings today:-)
Need you guys help to understand below pic from bottom of the bike. Four holes with tread, just wanted to make sure the bike is not missing any thing there. And I see rust spot here and there.
slow down.

I thought mounting holes for rider foot rest for unicorn 160.
Hornet and unicorn 160 share same engine with different tune. The rider foot rest for hornet are rear set and so don't need these holes.

Answers in bold...Originally posted by vinnuthegr8 View PostHello all,
Awaiting some response for my above query. Please help.
1. When the headlight is on and the engine is revving, the light glows brightly and when kept at idling, the light dims down. This is specifically a problem when driving during the night and whenever there is a gear change at slow speeds.(Not seen this problem in any bike, even in my old Unicorn)
A: The Hornet headlamps are not Full DC setup (does not draw power from the battery directly) hence the headlight will only function at its full capacity when the engine is generating more/full power (example revving). The battery is only 4Ah where I see cost cutting is evident. The maximum wattage you can pull out of this battery is about 48Watt which is used to consume the LED components of the Hornet (Since LED requires DC current). The remaining Headlamp, Pilot (Position) lamp and Turn Signal indicators "maybe" running on AC current. Because I just do not see the current electrical configuration being able to handle all the electrical on DC setup. Even the Unicorn 150CC gets a 7Ah battery. Your motorcycle is working as designed. This is a very sad state considering the competitors come with much better electrical configuration.
2. I get a sound from the chain as if it is loose when i press the clutch. This happens mostly when i start to ride the bike bike after keeping it idle for some time. Like in the morning when going to office and again when starting to come back.
A: This is again normal in high torque motorcycles. When you depress the clutch and engage the gear in 1st, there is torque transmission which is called 'gear train'. This is normal and its not because your chain is loose. This sound is more evident when the gears are cold.
3. While driving doubles and when we go on a speed braker(even a small one, as we see the plastic ones in malls), there is a sound as if something is hitting in the below. Not sure if this is the main stand hitting them or something else. And I believe it is not the main stand as i see that the bike has a very good ground clearance.
A: I am not sure about this since the sound can come from various places. Even a loose bolt on a mudguard can cause a noise which may fool you. I would suggest, you go to a Honda showroom and do a test ride of a test vehicle and take it over a couple of speed breakers and compare.Motorcycle Trip log - Summer ride to N.
