Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
The centrifugal oil filter and the strainer need to be cleaned, that's all. That's what the Unicorn 160 manual says, and AFAIK, the 2 engines are nearly the same except the bump in power, torque and the more efficient cooling.Originally posted by Motomonster View PostI believe hornet has a centrifugal oil filter and needs to be replaced after piling in 10-15k kilometers. I am not sure about the duration of replacement.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hey guys, there seems to be some kind of "screeching" sound near the back wheel which mostly only the pillion can hear, (I don't hear as a rider, maybe because ride with helmet) on the move. This was spotted by a random person while I was offering him a lift. I do not know if it is normal, but I kinda feel it was not there on day 1 with my hornet. Since my experience as pillion on Hornet has been almost nil since the day one I can't be certain. The sound comes when I am using the throttle. If I use clutch, there is no sound or anything. Is this normal? I am divided of opinion if it is from chain or not. Sometimes it feels like chain or sometimes, it feels like some kind of polythene or something which got stuck somewhere near the rear tyre hitting on something. I have the latter feeling because I had packed the bike once to transport through train, I get a feeling that something must have got stuck in the bike while packing.
Can you guys please share what could be the cause?
Also, I just spotted another black hornet(or is it pearl siren blue?
) somewhere in manipal, karnataka. Is it someone from here?

I have the same question, awaiting replay from ownersOriginally posted by Saurabh Umadikar View PostWhat is the Seat height of Hornet 160R? I googled it but some websites says 780mm some says 790mm.
Leaving the Maths apart is the Comfortable for short guys like 5'4s?

"Hardly matters!
Its always said that if one is short in height, s/he should put one foot fully flat on the ground to take the weight of the bike, depending upon the conditions prevailing at that point of time and keep the other foot on the brake/clutch lever.
Tip toe-ing on both feet is NOT recommended! "
Ayns - in short you can buy it if you are confident, but take a test ride first c if your'e comfortable with it then decide after all you will handle it in daily city traffic.

Thank You. Drove Hornet today, felt comfortable. I always put one foot fully flat just like you suggested, so it wasn't much of a problem (Riding Hornet 160r). Clutch was butter smooth.
I will be booking one shortly, have some dilemma about clours.
Sound wasn't that funky.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hi, the sound is coming from the chain. Put your bike on main stand and then ask someone to accelerate lightly meanwhile you check the noise/sound. Note the sound is low & you need to go near the chin set to notice it.Originally posted by hisham2k9 View PostHey guys, there seems to be some kind of "screeching" sound near the back wheel which mostly only the pillion can hear, (I don't hear as a rider, maybe because ride with helmet) on the move. Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hi there, Well the gears become smooth with usage. Just apply optimum pressure in the beginning so that gears fall in their slots.. the crispness will come.Originally posted by kausumi20 View PostBought a red hornet today .. and rode 30 KMS back home initial impression performance is very good but gearbox is a bit harsh specially downshifting from 3rd gear it gets stuck sometime. Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Got my Orange Hornet with CBS. Cant wait for weekend to take a long ride. The machine is little heavy but gives that heady feeling of dominance.
I opted for Teflon coating. so there is no glare and color is enhanced. The horn is squeaky compared to the stature of bike like a well built guy with shrilly voice
The bite of CBS is violent. I almost banged my head on digital meter
I didnt went to showroom. so i missed out the PDI stuff. Someone please suggest the mandatory PDI checks.

Congratulations for the ride. Though Honda has got orange hornet everywhere in their ads, I guess you are the first person here I guess with orange cbs. Do share some pics.Originally posted by Ananda View PostGot my Orange Hornet with CBS. Cant wait for weekend to take a long ride.
