Thanks for your reply. In unicorn 160 user manual the oil drain interval is 6k kms. As far I know through blogs mineral oil only lasts for 3k kms, only synthetic oil will lasts upto 6k kms. Let me know what the oil drain interval for hornet in user manual.Originally posted by anoopkumar0 View Post

re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
During 1st service they gave me an option of either mineral or synthetic. I chose mineral oil.the bike became smooth and after riding for about 200km it feels more free revving so give some time it will be alright.Originally posted by badar.wase View PostHi bro. I have honda unicorn 160. After 1st servicing my bike feels bit more sluggish. Actually they put honda mineral oil costs 310rs. For your bike which oil they put. And what is the cost of that oil.
Most of the service center are average ,to get the work done you have to maintain friendly relationship with them.also clean the bike yourself do not rely on svc .Originally posted by anoopkumar0 View PostFor me it's he same, 310rs. I will update if I notice sluggishness.
I am not satisfied the way they did servicing @Harmony Honda, Near BHEL. Bike was not cleaned properly, I have to asked them to clean it again.
It's seems they have high volume of bike to be serviced and have very less space. They also put the bike outside, beside road after servicing.
Anyone know Honda bike service center near Hitech City. I want to try at different place next time.
+1Originally posted by RoyalIndian View PostLet me give you an advice. Try to wash your bike yourself or take it to a local washer where you can supervise the process. The SVC people wash multiple bikes at the same time, they are really not bothered about how they wash it. Its important to preserve the paint, something that they will not care about.
So wash the bike yourself and then take it to the SVC. Then tell them not to wash the bike and start the service procedures.
Also Anoop, can you please check below the tail section of your bike and see whether the rear fender is screwed in and whether it will be easily removable?
Thank you
Yes for hornet too it is 6k interval but even if you use synthetic you should not extend the interval to that limit.for mineral 3k is max, don't know why they mentioned such long service interval.Originally posted by badar.wase View PostThanks for your reply. I do take care of bike but when you give it service center, at least we should expect to wash properly. little dirt or water marks are ok. I had number of services for Hunk. It was really fine.Originally posted by RoyalIndian View PostLet me give you an advice. Try to wash your bike yourself or take it to a local washer where you can supervise the process. You need to remove whole back with indicator and bottom of tail light.

re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hey guys, there is two more weeks for my first service, and its 500kms done.... should I give it to service? I have read it is 1000 kms or 1 month, but since it has done a lot of kms already, should I give it now itself? Since, I gather from elsewhere in xBHp that riding too many kms before first service is not the ideal thing.

Also, 2nd servicing given by Honda is 6000km/6month. I things it's too long.
Servicing bracket should be 3K Km/3month.------------------

Pre-Delivery inspection (PDI's) of bikes.
i booked Honda CB Hornet 160R (CBS), since this being my first bike what PDI's should i follow in general and in this specific case. I already paid a booking amount, about the remaining cost of bike; is it a good practice to pay all the due amount before a PDI, my dealer has asked me to pay up the remaining amount, even though the said variant is not available at showroom presently and which will be made available in next week as told by dealer.
Thanks & Regards

good choice mate, well as much as i knw - look abt the km it shudnt be more than 2km on ODO, inspect the bike very carefully, abt scratch n all also looking glasses each n every thing, dont go for any seat cover + grip cover ( personal choice bcoz they are asking for 1k for seat cover n 500 for handle grip cover's ) , check the clutch, brakes (if they are too loose) , driver chain , tyre pressure etc etc, and if i were you i wud wait for mah bike to came, bcoz you have already paid the booking amt asked your dealer to bring your bike first then you will happily pay the rest
hope it helps also wait for other to comment...

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Dear friends, after reading various reviews online & the reviews by X-BHPians I narrowed down to Hornet. This is my 2nd motor bike after HH Splendour which I used 2001-2005. My red Hornet 10 days old, covered 460 km. So far the experience is good. Since the manual says run-in period till 500 km I am just following 3500-4000 rpm & speed around 50 kmph. It is a big challenge to run under 50 kmph, when it can go much more. Ride is comfortable. Also my usage were 50/50 - city/highway (since while going to office in early morning when traffic is very less I could ride @ 5th gear & evening will get stuck in heavy traffic so frequent gear changes. Hence 50/50). At times I was tempted to cross 55 kmph, but I felt anything above 4500 rpm the engine is harsh (May be because the engine is new & due for the first oil change.) But still the power band being at 6500 rpm to 8500 rpm, I thought to be smooth till 6500 rpm at least. Is this harsh behaviour above 4500 rpm is normal ??
Regarding the mileage it gave 62 km/l. At the time of delivery the dealer told they had put 1 litre, then I had filled the petrol for Rs 500 ie., 7.92 litres, then I turned the knob to ON mode from RES. I was hoping a FE of 45+ so expecting to be forced to turn the knob to RES mode when it crosses ~ 310-320 km (at ~320 km the fuel indicator was at the last band.) But it kept continuing till 412 & the last band started blinking. I was in total disbelief may be the gauge or the main/reserve mechanism isn't working. Then I read another ownership review about Unicorn 160 & I understood that if the last bar is blinking then it is nearing the reserve mode. At 452 km it went to reserve. I was happy about this. Anyway after run-in period & first service I may take to long drive and definitely ride above 70-80 kmph so there will be drop in mileage. Still hoping it will give 45 km/l. I am planning to give first service @ around 850 - 900 km.
Also friends, I have one query regarding the tyre pressure. The manual says 25/29 psi for front/rear. I was filling the same at the air filling station. Just adjacent to me one more guy was filling at 30/40 psi. It was Hero bike of 150 cc segment only. What is the pressure generally followed without giving any issues ??Last edited by wdrwilfred; 02-15-2016, 11:30 PM.

Congratulations. You are getting very good mileage .engine being new will be a bit harsh ,after riding at higher rpms few Times it will be smooth and free.regarding the air pressure fill when tyres are cold.ie not used for 4 to 5 hours.Originally posted by wdrwilfred View PostDear friends, after reading various reviews online & the reviews by X-BHPians I narrowed down to Hornet. Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Thanks Moto, I got it. Regarding the air pressure I understood .. to be filled when cold. But the number, 25/29 to be strictly followed or till +3 psi can be OK ?? will there be any issues if it goes till 28/32 ??Originally posted by Motomonster View PostCongratulations.
