re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hi,
My friend is looking to buy a stylish 150-160cc bike. He's zeroed in on the Hornet.
1. Currently he's confused over whether he should go for the CBS variant or the standard one. Any thoughts?
2. More importantly, has anyone bought one recently in Bangalore? They're quoting 99K for the CBS and 94K for the standard. Anyone who managed a good deal? If yes, at which showroom? (and how much is the typical margin that one can typically shave with good negotiation)
Thanks.

CBS helps esp well for beginners..... But it does not prevent from wheel lock, but keeps the bike balanced as the braking ratio is maintained like a professional rider. I find the cbs very useful in my Activa but for a pro rider it may be irritating..... Now let him decideOriginally posted by Shaurya7 View PostHi,

1.CBS is helpful to a certain extent for new riders but the CBS variant gets rear disk and it is worth the price.Originally posted by Shaurya7 View PostHi,

2.I don't think Honda dealers would reduce price.I got mine for 400rs more than listed price.

In beginning my bike was doing 60 ph at 4k rpm but now it is doing 55 kmph.i don't know whether there is a drop in performance or I saw wrong rpm in beginning I think it's the latter because you too are doing 54kmph.Originally posted by anoopkumar0 View PostI got 53-54Kmph

Hey guys, are there only 3 owners still over here? 😅
Have you guys faced any specific problem till date?
Coming to mine, I never owned a bike before Hornet nor I rode one for long that I had to take care of it. So never bothered to check if the bike had any issues. So coming to hornet, I don't even know if it is common for bikes, but after quite a bit of ride, when I turn off the engine, there is this tik-tik kind of sound from bike, near engine area for a while, like some 5 minutes. I tried to see if it is some liquid dropping, becuase one of the pipe near to tank was removed once to empty petrol so as to transport the bike in train. But nothing as such. Wondering what would be the sound.

Completely normal, metal contracting sound. I think it is more pronounced from catalytic converterOriginally posted by hisham2k9 View PostHey guys, are there only 3 owners still over here? 😅

Combi breaks cetainly help to you get the balance. Not, required if you a human combi break systemOriginally posted by Shaurya7 View Post1. Currently he's confused over whether he should go for the CBS variant or the standard one. Any thoughts?
I always prefer double disk. With the help of combi+double disc, it reduces the breaking distance, which is important.
I got saved a few times because of double disc when I was using Hunk. Crazy people in Hyderabad look on other side while crossing the road

Have you found the suspension to be stiff on a comparitive basis?
My friend, who has quite a bit of experiences with variety of bikes says hornet has a bit stiffer suspension. is that true?
During test rides, I found the suspension of hornet on par with many of its rivals.

Hornet's suspension is a bit stiffer than other bikes in 150cc category. It was also confirmed by reviews .Originally posted by hisham2k9 View PostOhkay! Thanks!

Yes, suspension is not soft or with big compression.. but handles the path-holes pretty well. One very first day, bike handled a big path-hole where I was expected a big shock. I was with my brother.Originally posted by hisham2k9 View PostOhkay! Thanks!
