Happens. My father was scared of seeing the Splendor iSmart BS6 with a front disc. He wondered why something with the name "Splendor" would have something "dangerous" such as a disc brake.

There's something about Yamaha which I have appreciated more than anything else, it's braking stability. Nothing beats Yammie when it comes to braking. They have it figured it. Even on the FZ25, I was scary surprised on how good thing that can come to a half at 137km/hr (my top speed , was scared to go higher). This was a bike which didn't even have ABS.

Been there, done that :P Happens to me when I take the Unicorn for some runs and then get back on the Splendor on city commutes.

I had bad experience with RTR160, but with it was awesome with RTR180. However, I have doubt about quality in long run.
Quality about Apaches has always been questionable in long run. Even with a rebuild, they don't give factory like performance.

Let say, When you have been rider of performance bike (not talking about Hornet), when you touch a scooty . You may complain a lot, but hey, there are scooty rider who are very happy with scoot 1 over other brand.
Been in your shoes in this one as well, especially the Activa. Only exception has been when I rode my cousin brother's Fascino. It's a fairly nimble, stable and peppy (no pun intended at TVS :P) at the same time.

Done 54,000 km in 4 years..... stock Exide battery replaced by Amron, cost Rs. 1100. Front fork oil leaked and rectified a HASC. Fuel efficiency in 52-54/kmpl. Nothing more to complain about the bike.

Here's a recent image of the Hornet I use. Rear tyre was changed a tad bit late. ODO reads 40,916kms. We switched to a Michelin Pilot Sporty. I am surprised that the rear went for so long, even though it could have been changed earlier.

                  Hi,
My hornet 2016 model handlebar is having a bend and my friend brought a new one for me from his local service center. He don't know if it is for 2016 model or 2018 model.

I know that the new 2018 model handlebar is not suitable for old models. Can anyone confirm with this part number, it is for which model??? So i can return if its not suitable without opening the cover.

I could never get more than 45kmpl from most of the 150ccs. The maximum I got was around 45kmpl on a unicorn 150. Hornet/Unicorn 160/Gixxer/Achiever/RTR160 all gave me 37-43kmpl in the city. My FZ25 gives me 31-33 in the city.

                          Agreed...

Below are my mileage on various riding styles...

                          Highway - constant of 85kmph - 44kmpl

                          City/traffic
                          Harsh ride - 40kmpl
Mixture of normal and harsh - 42kmpl
                          Normal ride - 42 to 45kmpl

Extreme harsh/ constant triple digit speed - 35 to 38kmpl

In free roads, with a constant ride in economy range like under 50kmph without using much of brake/gear/clutch - 50 to 55kmpl

I use full tank method to calculate average on my all bike. Here they are:

Unicorn 150: 47kmpl (worst) and 55kmpl (best). Worst mileage for me on Unicorn is usually when it's ridden either in city or at high speeds on highways (70+). Riding constantly at 60km/hr gives at atleast 50kmpl for me.

Hornet: 41kmpl (city ride) and 52kmpl (best) on College rides (highway 100%). I've never exceeded 80km/hr speed on Hornet on an average. Most I've rode on it was 101km/hr while the road was free. Even when riding at such speed my friend claimed that he got 37-39kmpl (constant speed for 100+ at most times for touring a distance of 400kms)

These figures vary depending on how you ride, road conditions, fuel quality and all.

Compare the new handlebar with the old after removing the old. The only thing you need to see - there are some holes near the throttle and LHS hand grip for proper alignment of the switchgear. These have to match.

                                In speeds of 90 to 100kmph on highways i get 35 to 37kmpl !
