One issue with my bike is that when i would be driving at constant speed, lets say at 50-60 kmph in open highways, Suddenly the rpm would rise to all the way up and sound too and then it would come back down to normal. Happened many times while riding. When this happens i take the hands of acclerator. Apart from this i think my conset is also dead. While braking hard i can feel something rubbing against each other (think it's conset balls) and also hear some sound near the handlebar area while riding in rough roads.
Take it to a good svc. [emoji106]

        Hai Guys....

        Completed 60,000 kms and 4 Yrs & 7 Months..

        Mileage also tested

1 st test 1.24 Ltrs consumed for 74.5 Km mileage 60.08 Kmpl
2 nd test: 1.24 Ltrs consumed for 69.5 Km mileage 56.05 Kmpl

Previous results were 52 kmpl and 54 kmpl at 30,000 km... improved

Reserve to reserve method used both time

City and village roads used for testing ... 4-5 start and stop in first test
but, more than 10 start and stop in second test.

No major issues in 60,000 km. indicator relay & fork oil replaced. Chain & sprocket changed twice. Clutch cable changed as per my request at 54,000 km as a precaution. HASS guys reluctant to change , they are very confident and opined that cable will last 1,00,000 km. brade pads also changed.

All services done at HASS ( thanks to EVM Kakkanad and Purackal Motors,Kuravilangad). Service guys in Purackal Motors are more friendly and have adequate knowledge about bike ( Hornet).

I WOULD LIKE TO SAY "REAL NO PROBLEM BIKE"

Brother do one thing, when your engine is completely hot after 10-15 minutes of riding, adjust idling to 1.1(one level up to 1 mark), that's it.
Your revs coming slow problem will be solved!!!

Not surprising, I expected this. They are bringing this now due to compulsion/competition. As we know, the Hornet sales got poorer and poorer. This is more or less the CB190R which is already selling in China. They should definitely bring in the Red-Blue-White livery.

Yeah even performance numbers are too poor ! It'll be a even bigger disaster than Hornet !

First look at the Hornet 2.0 184cc BSVI.

It looks great, i think the best looking naked sport under 300cc. 142kg weigh for a 184cc bike. That's sure a significant improvement for performance. Power figures are 17.03bhp/16.1nm. I bet it's a fair competitor for a 180cc machine. Also ppl look at honda bikes mainly for comfort/refinement/engine durability rather than simply high top speeds.

If pricing is attractive, am damn sure this is a safe and better move from honda for a sub200cc.

Also the power to weight ratio of hornet 2.0 is best of the lot in <=200cc machines.

It looks too similar to the older Hornet.

                          Really?
With that new split seat / golden USD forks / engine cowl / enhanced tank graphics and deisgn / new headlight design, indicators.

May be if this is not a proper upgrade of a design then what else would be.

The front tyre of my bike is about to run out, whereas my rear tyre has more life left. Odometer reading is about 20k.
                              What would the issue be?
Usually the rear tyre wears out before the front..
                              Any ideas??

One of my friend owner of Hornet 160 had a very bad experience this monsoon. Twice there was an issue of water mixing with engine oil on a air cooled engine!
Culprit traced to the engine crank case ventilation pipe is vented out in Air cleaner chamber. The air cleaner chamber has a seal whose lip got folded and was accumulating water inside. This water in return was getting sucked by the crankcase ventilation pipe and hence the mixing of oil and water.
Its a design flaw, for most indian bikes the outlet of the Crankcase ventilation pipe is vented out downwards below the engine oil level. Whereas in Honda its vented in the air cleaner cavity which is located above the crankcase, hence easier for the water to enter the crankcase and mix with oil. Owners please check your oil for mixing of water especially in monsoon.
Honda tried to save nature by venting out engine fumes back to engine inlet side but landed up with a major design flaw and a potential failure mode.
The water from the seat trickles down the sides and enters the air cleaner compartment especially if the seals lip has been folded while assembling it back in servicing. Simple assembly mistake by a mechanic can lead to drastic engine failure. Beware!
