I am in Nalbari now, hope to return to Guwahati soon, today evening or tomorrow morning. On highway I will try to have some kind of tests, God willing.Originally posted by #bpk View Post15.6 bhp model were smooth, i rode 3 2018 model and they had even more vibes than mine. On testing 2016 model only i went for hornet, i did a mistake by not test riding 2018 model as test ride bike was not available at that time.Originally posted by Anupam Das View PostI am in Nalbari now, hope to return to Guwahati soon, today evening or tomorrow morning. Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
State of tune is the answer, read up a bit on different bore*stroke configurations and the effect displacement and compression ratio has on performance.Originally posted by gowthamh View PostHow come smoothness and underpowered are same? Both are of different things rite Underpowered is the engine's struggle in power delivery.. whereas smoothness is cruising the speed without engine harshness
Previous generation Honda's(Unicorn, Karizma) have a reputation for being smooth which is due to them being under-powered.
The more aggressive the state of tune, the more unrefined the motor would seem to be, same goes for wear and tear.Motorcycling Experience:
2000 ~ 2017 Y2K Kinetic Zoom (Disposed at 15k)
2011 ~ 2015 Hero Honda Karizma R (Sold at 56.5k)
2013 ~ 2014 Bajaj Discover 100 4G (Sold at 16.5k)
2015 ~ 2017 TVS Wego (Totaled at 18k)
2015 - Bajaj Pulsar 220F (Currently 31k) < Garage Queen!
2017 - Bajaj CT100B (Currently 21k) < 'Golden Quadrilateral' Runner!
The Ride was Good, but Life is short, spend it Wisely!
Adios Comrades!

Thats why i love low compression motorcycles like rtr 200 and pulsar 220, no problem motorcycle.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostState of tune is the answer, read up a bit on different bore*stroke configurations and the effect displacement and compression ratio has on performance.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Your vehicle should be under warranty. The problems you are facing should be resolved to your satisfaction by ASC. I remember that some Hornets had problems and the ASC you visited recently replaced many parts under warranty in 2016. At that time they told me that some Hornets have major problems and some don't have any problems (like my Hornet). They replaced many costly parts. The vibration issue is potentially harmful for the bike, it seems. You can contact Honda customer care as they are bound to resolve your problem under warranty.Originally posted by #bpk View PostOn testing 2016 model only i went for hornet, i did a mistake by not test riding 2018 model as test ride bike was not available at that time.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Compression ratio of P220 is 9.5:1, RTR2OO is 9.7:1 and 2016 Hornet is 10:1, the difference does not seem to be too much. My Hornet does not seem to have any problems (except some harshness at higher rpm) in spite of having higher compression ratio. Quality level of Bajaj bikes is pathetic, that of TVS is nowhere near Honda.Originally posted by #bpk View PostThats why i love low compression motorcycles like rtr 200 and pulsar 220, no problem motorcycle.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
117 kmph, but it does not like to go past 112 kmph. The front wheel is not that free, maybe due to CBS. I am not complaining about vibration but about engine harshness at higher rpm. Being Unicorn owner before, I was shocked at (increase of) engine harshness when I touched 75+ kmph for the first time on my Hornet(after 2500+ km of running in). Now harshness starts at 83 kmph(6250rpm approx, odometer reading 14900+ km).Originally posted by gowthamh View PostSo, whats the top speed achieved in ur hornet?

Can't bliv harshness starts at 83kmphOriginally posted by Anupam Das View Post117 kmph, but it does not like to go past 112 kmph. The front wheel is not that free, maybe due to CBS. Mine is in 17k to 18k odo.. I reached a Max of 123 kmph (infact I achieved this speed just immediately after the days of first service)
Genuinely it can reach 119/120 kmph as top speed. If the road is slight inclined ..we can expect till 125 kmph or more
Till 100/112kmph the engine is stress free
Cruising between 60 to 90/95kmph is the sweet spot in hornet

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
It has high speed cruising ability , i easily cruise between 80 to 100kmph. Touring in hornet is a bliss.Originally posted by gowthamh View PostCan't bliv harshness starts at 83kmph

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
My bike doesn't get much hot, so no issue of heat management. Oil cooling though always welcome may not be needed for relatively smaller engine of Hornet 160R.Originally posted by #bpk View PostYou forgot about low compression+ efficient heat management( oil cooling)= stressfree cool engine= more smoothness across the revband.
