I said that assuming he will go to the SVC for another servicing when the engine oil won't be exhausted. Or is he changing oil WRT to service centre schedule?Originally posted by anoopkumar0 View PostAfter 1000-1500km oil will go all black. How wiil they know?
Even, Motul 300 , full green, went blackish in 2000km. It started leaking and I had to go back to Throttle.
On other side, there are ASC in other cities insisting to opt for Throttle.[My Motorcycles]

No, i change oil before a long trip, irrespective of schedule, today I've covered almost 180 kilometers at 80 to 90 kmph continuously. I love my bike, and don't want to put stress by running with old oil. And no mech7 can identify a oil once it gets inside the engine, it becomes black soon.Originally posted by Bismaya View PostI said that assuming he will go to the SVC for another servicing when the engine oil won't be exhausted. Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hi, Owner of 2017 (July) model Hornet CBS with AHO, completed 15k kms. As a fellow Hornet owner, I am interested in the topics getting discussed here. And thanks to these 6500+ posts.
#bpk - I have seen posts from #bpk about the vibration problems. Can you give me an indicator so as to understand the intensity of vibrations you are getting? I do feel vibrations, only when the chain is loose. When I get it tightened, I feel the bike is smooth again. I am not an expert so as to point out where the vibration is felt or the minor vibrations, if any, in the bike.
anoopkumar0 – The oil was of a green tint when I purchased the bike. After the first service and later, they are filling red tinted oil. Things are okay anyway. I, till now, stick to the 6000km/6 months interval (I wanted to change oil much before, but forgot at that time). Oil gets dark as mileage climb, but never found it black. The last time I changed oil around 5975 km and still found the oil not absolute black, against my expectations. But I don’t think someone can find out the brand or something like that!!
Also I changed the headlamp as the low beam busted. Changed the Phoenix one from Honda with an Osram classic (same specs). Nothing seems different. I too want to upgrade the lamp. The 55W of Royal Enfields seems bright while on the road. Is it possible to change to a brighter lamp (like a plug n play setup) without any stress on the battery? Will the AHO feature cause any harm in such a mod?

I am 2018 hornet owner, i feel vibe when chain is tight, on loose chain it runs smoother, yes the previous gen hornet are smoother. I fell vibes in 3.5k rpm in handlebars, and above 70 kmph in 5th gear, which is not present in fz or 160 4v.Originally posted by unik View PostHi, Owner of 2017 (July) model Hornet CBS with AHO, completed 15k kms. Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I am not sure if 55w will work. I was asking if something can be done if additional 15W can be taken out from Parking+Tail lamp.Originally posted by unik View PostAlso I changed the headlamp as the low beam busted. However, I found a few good alternative.
Osram Rallye Cool Blue Hyper 40/45W (I didn't find the yellow version, Hope 40w will do better). I am taking it to install on father's Hero Glamour. I did installed Xenon HID but too much battery drain. I will try to install on my Hornet.
Guys says this is better
Another one:
Osram Rallye 40/45W on hornet
Osram Night Racer 90
From above of these, I think Osram Rallye 40/45W would be better.------------------

You can try Osram Silver star 35watt. I it used in my dio ( now sold ) suitable within city and outskirts. 55W will create adverse effect on battery (4ah) and alternator as well and won’t give sufficient amount of light throw as well.Originally posted by anoopkumar0 View Post
WTF Honda, 10W bulbs for turn indicators. and giving puny 4ah battery .
So, if we change parking lights (2x5W), Number plate light (1x5W) and Turn Indicator (1x10W) .
We straightway get 20W spare. Can we install 55w headlight?
Wiring harness is specifically designed for 35watt. Which may get damaged by using higher wattage bulb.Last edited by Rohit3235; 02-05-2019, 01:25 AM.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
There should be no problem except harshness/jarring ride quality on rough roads, the bike should not be ridden fast on rough roads. In fact I increased tyre pressure to 27/36 psi yesterday. On smooth roads it is as fine it can be.Originally posted by gowthamh View PostDoes Tyre pressure : front_26 Rear_36 harm my hornet tyres...?
