Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I have hornet std and have done 19,000 kms. Rear brake is not giving good response, very hard to stop without using front on speed above 50.
Please guide which break parts should be changed at what kms and please suggest some break maintenance tips that need to be taken care of.
Thanks.

Have you changed the brake pads? If not, it is time to do so. Get the brake fluid replaced as well.Originally posted by Vikas Duhan View PostI have hornet std and have done 19,000 kms. Rear brake is not giving good response, very hard to stop without using front on speed above 50.

No, haven't changed anything in breaks yet. Was not sure at what intervals/km these should be changed. Will get it checked and changed around next weekend.Originally posted by ayrus View PostHave you changed the brake pads? If not, it is time to do so. Get the brake fluid replaced as well.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Rear brake shoes are shit. If you have a rear drum, get the shoes changed. The wear out really soon. Mine worn out at about 17k to 18k. It's useless at this point and requires front action at all times, which isn't possible when taking turns.Originally posted by Vikas Duhan View PostNo, haven't changed anything in breaks yet. Mine is in between 17k to 18k... Brakes are still strong... I own normal Variant with single front disc brakes...Originally posted by Bismaya View PostRear brake shoes are shit. VIBRATION ISSUE UPDATE
So, today i visited honda svc regarding the engine vibrations, first of all, honda head technician didn't considered it as vibrations, he said that it's quite common in new honda motorcycles. I disagreed with him, and told him to provide me a test ride vehicle from a customer ( not official honda test ride bike). That bike had 6000 kilometers on the odo, to my surprise it had even more terrible vibes in 3 to 4k rpm than mine! Even on footpegs the vibrations were high. Just now, i rode a 9600 kilometers run 2018 hornet, and it had terrible vibrations than that previous motorcycle, the owner was frustrated on owning hornet and even he is planning to sell it asap. Conclusion: vibrations in hornet is directly proportional to the amount of kilometers clocked. I know, you may think that i am a lunatic, to the proof of which, i will confirm it by my senior xbhpian mr. Anupam Das. Bye.

Did u made test ride on a new hornet... You should have tried in a new one, if u felt the same vibrations in it which you are facing in your bike then we can conclude whether your particular machine is defective or whatOriginally posted by #bpk View PostVIBRATION ISSUE UPDATE

Btw, as I told earlier in my bike from the beginning to present(in between 17 to 18k odo) I didn't faced any abnormal vibrations...
Another suggestion is, better you can visit another Honda service /else make a direct complaint to Honda through their customer service

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Infact, after these changes and sixth service.. mileage also improved... In harsh ride nearly 45kmph...Originally posted by gowthamh View PostRecently I made sixth service for my hornet...
The service person asked me to replace spark plug as well Air filter..
My odo is _ 17k km...
I thought post 17k km, it can be the right thing to replace air filter and spark plug..so I told the service person to replace them
After the service and replacement of those two things, bike performance is better than before especially the Torque of tyres in LOW RPMs are getting better (that's a great relief in hornet)...
I think, the new air filter helped for the better performance of engine...
Hope ,this info can be helpful for hornet riders.

In proper ride around 48kmph
Yet to try highway mileage ..

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Based on the test ride of the non aho model, i bought hornet. And yes, i did test ride both the 6000 kilometers run hornet in the photo as well as 9600 kilometers run hornet . Hence, i am very much clear about the vibes. And i revved a brand new hornet in neutral and it had same vibe as mine. May be the 1st batch of 2018 hornet have this problem. Below is the pic of response from HMSI. The svc called me today, based on my complaints, and i did ride the bike in order to confirm.Originally posted by gowthamh View PostDid u made test ride on a new hornet... If it is so, inorder to clear your doubt...check out with some 2017 edition or older oneOriginally posted by #bpk View PostBased on the test ride of the non aho model, i bought hornet. Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Older one specially the non aho were smooth , i rode it in 2016 and was satisfied with the smoothness but the newer ones are worst, that 9.6k run bike had vibrations from 2k rpm itself ( in handlebar, like 2 mobile phones in vibration mode). If you, come across any 2018 model please compare and let me know.Originally posted by gowthamh View PostIf it is so, inorder to clear your doubt...check out with some 2017 edition or older one
