This is quite normal on this engine, it's a bit noisy.

This looks fine since it's at idle. My FZ25 and gixxer visibly vibrated everywhere at idle (can see the mirrors, handlebar, etc. vibrating at a high frequency).

Maybe you need better bar ends to dampen the handlebar vibrations, or try a 10w40 oil.

To get rid of vibrations i put 5th gear as soon as possible, upto 4th gear my motorcycle runs harsh and vibraty , in 5th gear it's somewhat bearable. My idle rpm is around 1200 rpm when cold and about 1400 to 1500 rpm when hot, and in cold weather it runs little smooth, and gearshifting also improves, but from 30 degrees onwards motorcycle becomes harsh. I will go to svc on 22nd , hope they fix it, otherwise i think I've to sell it [emoji22][emoji22]( i like the riding position and braking and looks of hornet very much, but...... [emoji22][emoji22])
Try what I said to you in some other thread. Change the oil. Try to ride the bike in 4-6k rpm. Take it hard for a few days and see what happens. If possible, check the volume of the drained oil. Ride another hornet, possibly from the same time purchase and see if you feel any difference. Baby care during break-in can do more harm than good.

But when i test rode hornet in 2016 it was so smooth, problem is that while riding also annoying vibrations come, i understand your fact, even my jupiter vibrates heavily during startup but when in motion becomes smooth, but in case of my motorcycle while accelerating also vibration is present, let's see.

Did you try another hornet with similar kms on odo. It will help you localize the issue to the specific bike or is it common to all bikes.

Edit: I rode a Duke 200. Full of vibrations!!

How many kms had the hornet run? When I test rode it in 2016, it was very rough in comparison to my unicorn 160 (which was already rough).

I then rode quite a few 2016 hornets from a riding group, some of them were very smooth, but they had completed 10000kms+.

My suggestion is to wait for at least 6000-8000kms to see if there is any difference.
Best example is the FZ25. New ones vibrate a lot between 5-5.5k rpm, while on my friend's bike (run 12k kms), there's a minor buzz in that range (and overall has lesser vibrations).

No, i haven't rode one, except mine but still even super splendor doesn't vibrates at 3.5k rpm, and why a 1.10 lakhs rupees bike vibrates? Is honda crazy or my motorcycle is defective [emoji23][emoji23][emoji22][emoji22]

If the bike rides and behaves well yet still transcends a lot to vibes might be a case of kaput engine rubber mounts/ bushings.

Did you check them by any chance? If not, I'd suggest you check and replace them. After all, they're rubber components and hardening is not very difficult resulting in poor efficiency.

I rode a Hornet 2017. It seems to have some vibrations throughout the rev range but it is nothing intolerable.

What I've heard is that the BS3 Hornets had less vibrations than BS4 Hornets. It is always necessary to different test bikes from the same model to know if it is a common issue or a one-off case.

There are no BS3 Hornets. Hornet was launched with a BS4 engines. There's power difference between to 15-16 and 17 models. The power was toned down on the Matte and Stickered models (starting with Mars Green and Orange) as compared to the initial models from 2016 and 2015.

Fine.... I here meant the 1st gen Hornets with no stickers which produced 15.6 bhp by BS3. I though they were BS3. If I remember right, they don't have AHO.

Super Splendor is a great bike for sale and time tested.

P.S: Guys, I found a Matte Black Unicorn 160 after searching at Bhubaneswar, Shivam Honda today. I enquired and it's been lying around for months. I guess it's mine to buy and they are more than happy to give me a Dhanteras discount. I was quoted an Ex-Showroom price of Rs 72,571 on the bike. Test rode another unit from their storage. The riding unit has covered only 32kms on the ODO and it feels smoother around the rev range as compared to the new Hornets. The manager claims that the test ride unit is from the same batch as the model I saw on display, so I shouldn't have any more issues. Lucky day I guess.

They don't have AHO and not all BS4 bikes were AHO. There was a small batch of Hero Achiever back in 2016, launched with BS4 engine and it didn't have AHO (although a month later the next set did).

Was that the same batch which sold for like 20-30% min off during March end last year?
