Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Do that first, then u can come to some conclusion... As for that vibrations, I can't say anything as I didn't faced in mine , even I rode till 123kmph in my hornet, but such kind of vibrations I didn't noticed in clutch leverOriginally posted by #bpk View PostOn 22nd I'll go

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Then it could be mostly due to manf. defect, check with honda service. Hope it will get resolved. If not, then make a call to Honda customer care and explain ur problem, may they can assist with any other options...Originally posted by #bpk View PostIt comes in neutral as well as in motion also [emoji22][emoji22]

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
How were you able to idle it at 3500 RPM hands-free, choke? That doesn't sound right, I think there is too much tappet noise from valve-train - is the clearances in spec, the only way you can know is by checking with a feeler gauge on a bone-cold engine.Originally posted by #bpk View PostHi , everyone my hornet vibrates heavily in 3 to 4k rpm, and it continues till the entire rev range, kindly see the below video, and tell me is there any problem with my engine, like manufacturing defect.

Yes, i did engage the choke during cold start, if i rotate accerator manually and keep it at 3.5 to 4k rpm then also it vibrates. I don't hear tik tik sound while idling. How is tappet sound can you please tell me. [emoji120]Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostHow were you able to idle it at 3500 RPM hands-free, choke? A mild tik tik sound when the engine is cold is okay, it will go off once the engine is at operating temperature and the valves have expanded due to heat.Originally posted by #bpk View PostI don't hear tik tik sound while idling.
We do know that Youtube audio doesn't accurately reproduce the actual sound of your engine, but it seemed to me that the top-end is slightly noisy. You can confirm by revving up another Hornet to 3.5-4 k RPM and comparing.Originally posted by #bpk View PostHow is tappet sound can you please tell me.
If you do find the top-end to be noisy (much more than other Hornets without the vibration problem), one common cause can be larger than recommended tappet clearance - Suzuki calls this noisy-ness as "valve chatter". The solution is simple. Re-adjust the clearance when the engine is cold with a feeler gauge (no newspaper, shaving razor or plastic cover allowed) to the recommended clearance.
Two things should be kept in mind:
#1 The tightening torque for the valve adjusting lock nut is higher in Hornet than an Unicorn 150.
#2 Before tightening the valve adjusting lock nut, clean engine oil should be applied to the threads so that friction doesn't fool us that the torque is reached.
If this doesn't solve it, the excess noise or vibration, the problem can be elsewhere like a manufacturing defect/poor quality in the rocker arms, camshaft, valves or their springs. Am not sure whether cam chain/tensioner problem can lead to vibration, but improper valve clearance sure does in some vehicles.
Also,
#1 tighten the 4 Allen bolts that hold the handlebar.
#2 tighten the clutch lever pivot bolt but ignore it's dance - it has this up-down movement on all vehicles and now it is more prominent because the handlebar vibrates.
I suggest taking it to the SVC ASAP and getting the clearance and engine checked. Do not wait for 2nd service at 6000 kms - not saying to scare you, but that is that. The more one waits (when there is a problem) one component will start affecting the other. Be polite to them, get it checked; if the clearances and engine is completely okay, walk off paying the labor with a peace of mind. Make sure they adjust using feeler gauge and on a cold engine.
Slightly larger valve clearance will not show up as mileage/power drastically dropping as the valves with anyway close 100% when they are supposed to.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Mineral for the first 1600 kms/1000 miles and then one can shift to a semi-synthetic or a fully synthetic. 1600 kms is more than sufficient for the rings to set. People who have shifted to a semisynthetic permanently at 800 kms (1st service) dont have a problem too.Originally posted by Ravii View PostWhich oil to use on cylinder kit change?
Synthetic or mineral??Did they change your handlebar recently during your accident repair? If no, check it for bends and replace if found any. If yes, they must not have aligned it properly - there is a dot that helps with alignment - on the area where the clamps hold it.Originally posted by mac4rfree View PostAny one changed their handle bar?? That's looks harsh. But with choke it can happen when bike is resting. Did you check idle after closing choke?Originally posted by #bpk View PostHi , everyone my hornet vibrates heavily in 3 to 4k rpm, and it continues till the entire rev range, kindly see the below video, and tell me is there any problem with my engine, like manufacturing defect.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
My mileage is around 45 to 48kmpl, even after removing choke and accerating by my hand i feel same vibrations, after 4k rpm vibrations in handlebar slightly reduces but at that point, footpegs starts vibrating. To get rid of vibrations i put 5th gear as soon as possible, upto 4th gear my motorcycle runs harsh and vibraty , in 5th gear it's somewhat bearable. My idle rpm is around 1200 rpm when cold and about 1400 to 1500 rpm when hot, and in cold weather it runs little smooth, and gearshifting also improves, but from 30 degrees onwards motorcycle becomes harsh. I will go to svc on 22nd , hope they fix it, otherwise i think I've to sell it [emoji22][emoji22]( i like the riding position and braking and looks of hornet very much, but......
