Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Tell about your issues properly with the service person, if u got doubt about defective, ride other hornets and revv it hard as well,so you will come to know about its smoothness..then come to a conclusionOriginally posted by #bpk View Post

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
No vibrations till 8k rpms bro. Odo is at 1350kms. After 8k rpms there are slight vibrations on the footpegs.Originally posted by #bpk View PostHow many kilometers have you covered, are gearshifts smooth in blade, do u not feel vibrations in handlebar and footpegs. Strange, i think unicorn 160 was also smoother than hornet. My meter console vibrates and makes sound in 3.5 to 4k rpm, also there's handlebar and footpeg vibrations [emoji22]

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Highway stability and smoothness is my most favorite, cruising in the range of 60 to 90kmph is a awesome thing in hornet, if you are having such kind of vibs in low RPM itself , then you can't experience the highway thrill.. hope your bike will be proper soonOriginally posted by #bpk View PostI will show it to svc in 2nd servicing, i think i got a defective motorcycle, tell me how do i convince them to replace the defects

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Here's what I found:Originally posted by gowthamh View PostFine, list some other major advantages you feel good in Xblade over hornet
1. Sleeker and Lightweight
2. Shorter turning radius
3. Better throttle response
4. Rear brake drum feels better than Hornet
5. Gear Indicator
6. Less uglier looking fairing as compared to the 2018 Hornet
7. Less constant reminder of the bike name on every damn body part[My Motorcycles]

1. Sleeker and lightweight - Hornet is known for it's beast character, so Ultimately it will weight a bit moreOriginally posted by Bismaya View PostHere's what I found:

2. hornet is also having short radius, as the bike length is lesser, radius difference won't be much longer than Xblade
3. Better throttle response _ delivering better power in low RPM is the only major advantage ,what i felt as better in Xblade
4. Braking - am not sure about Xblade, but hornet got cbs, abs, everything
5. Gear indicator _ one minor best feature in Xblade, can't be a deal breaker
6. I got 2017 edition., So am not feeln bad as like for 2018 edition
7. Hornet 2017 not having such kind of thing.
Am not here to debate as hornet is the only best, but as a owner of hornet am not easily ready to accept other bikes as better than mine

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
That's called being a fanboy for you. I speak from my own riding experience. It may differ from person to person. I believe a good owner is one that owns upto any faults that his bike may have. I ride a 2016 edition which is even better than the 2017 ones. I hate the stickered variants. Take it from someone who rides both Unicorn and Hornet, the xBlade seems a bit convenient to ride at this point. The whole deal about beast character and muscularity doesn't justify the convenience and practicality which modern bikes have over the Hornet (like RTR 1604V). Hornet was a good contender but without any major improvement it's just going to lose it's market to the already selling Gixxer and RTR 1604V.Originally posted by gowthamh View Post1. 2. And as for the radius, there's a difference. The huge tank shrouds make it a bit of trouble to move the handle in heavy traffic u-turns. It may not make much difference to where you live, but in a city traffic like mine, it does.
3. And that's what you exactly need in a huge traffic.
4. It may not get CBS and ABS, but like I mentioned, the feedback from rear brake drum is better than the Hornet.
7. It's there in the 2018 editions. Looks all crappy.
Here are pictures of the Hornet I use at the Uni. 25,537KMS on the ODO and still going.Last edited by Bismaya; 10-12-2018, 11:05 PM.[My Motorcycles]

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Known fact, Hornet has low power delivery in low end grunt... But, i got habitual with it on shifting gears.. Also my hornet grows along with me, so I know its precise handling and that makes me not much to worry on low end power, how to accelerate gradually, how to overtake other bikes,. Though initially other bikes (considering around or below 160cc) overtake me, i can able to take on them in mid, top range..Originally posted by Bismaya View PostThat's called being a fanboy for you. I accept ,it's not a race.. But Hornet got the power,. in gradual delivery... Point is , rider has to understand its engine refinement and the skill on extracting its power without stressing much the engine.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I don't get why people complain about the low end of the Hornet. Whenever I take my friend's Hornet for a ride, I feel that it lurches forward in the first gear so much that I often start it from the second gear. But once above 20 kmph, the power delivery feels natural. [I own a RTR 200]Originally posted by gowthamh View PostKnown fact, Hornet has low power delivery in low end grunt... In city traffic , for signal to signal cases ...people expect the instant power in initial acceleration, but hornet provides the gradual acceleration..thats why people are complaining about it..Originally posted by ayrus View PostI don't get why people complain about the low end of the Hornet. But I got familiar with hornet, And its gradual acceleration and to some extent I think I got the skill on extracting the proper power (low, middle, top RPMs) from hornet engine without stressing much.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Does the Hornet have a on-off type clutch?? ie. The clutch engages at a particular point on releasing the clutch lever rather than engaging gradually like most other bikes??Originally posted by gowthamh View PostIn city traffic , for signal to signal cases ...people expect the instant power in initial acceleration, but hornet provides the gradual acceleration..thats why people are complaining about it..

What I described above is partly due to this fact. I gradually raise the throttle and release the clutch simultaneously so that in my bike, the clutch engages gradually and the bike picks up speed gradually. But in the hornet, the clutch engages suddenly when the rpm is at 2.5-3k rpm (It doesn't happen if I wait for the clutch to engage at the idle rpm and then raise the throttle. But by my muscle memory, I tend to release the clutch and raise the throttle. What I mean to say is that it is not that the clutch engages at that rpm but I've already revved to that point before the clutch engages) and the bike suddenly jumps forward to 10-15 kmph (it is not much speed but when the bike does this, it lurches forward unexpectedly).Last edited by ayrus; 10-13-2018, 12:39 AM.
