Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Yeah I too heard xblade is faster than Hornet !!Originally posted by addy@4814 View PostReally??
In my X-Blade, 60kmph comes at 4k rpm
70kmph=5k rpm
80kmph=5.6k rpm
90kmph=6.3k rpm
100kmph= 7k rpm
110kmph=7.8k rpm
120kmph=8.6k rpm
130kmph=9.3k rpm
Top speed of my babe is [email protected] rpms
Might be able to achieve speeds because of reduced weight and ergonomics I guess.
PS: Don't stress the new engine !
Cheers,
RIDE SAFE.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Weight of hornet and blade is nearly same, main difference comes due to the fact that torque is delivered in 6k rpm in blade whereas in hornet it's produced at 6.5k rpm.Originally posted by Aswinlogi View PostYeah I too heard xblade is faster than Hornet !!

Also, blade has only 80 section tire at front, hornet has 100 section front.
Rear tire of blade is 130 section , hornet has 140 section.
Due to all these reasons, blade produces less drag and shoots ahead.
It seems to be a sports commuter, but actually is a mile muncher [emoji7]

Yup TYRE sizes play a vital role ,Agreed [emoji1360]Originally posted by #bpk View PostWeight of hornet and blade is nearly same, main difference comes due to the fact that torque is delivered in 6k rpm in blade whereas in hornet it's produced at 6.5k rpm.

Sell the hornet and buy a xBlade instead.Originally posted by #bpk View PostHahaha, give me your engine addy [emoji1][emoji1][emoji1][emoji28]
I think there's only 2kgs of weight difference between Hornet and xBlade. Also, I think the instrument console of xBlade better as compared to Hornet.[My Motorcycles]

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
But hornet is hondas first naked streetbike in india. I feel proud to be a hornet owner. Hornet just pops out of the 150cc segment crowd. It looks much stronger, performance is also good. Even fz 250 looks ordinary in front of hornet.Originally posted by Bismaya View PostSell the hornet and buy a xBlade instead.

It's not just that. I like the whole design better. The one on Hornet looks like an improvement of the one from CB Trigger which I totally hated.Originally posted by aishwary23 View PostGear indicator is for noobs xD

My Unicorn 150 is not a looker but I've learned to appreciate the comfort and practicality it provides.

Pillion seat height of hornet is much lower and wider than blade, rear disc is practical, having safety in terms of abs is practical. Have u seen front part of blade it looks like a malnutritioned kid having thin legs( puny 80 section tire) , headlight looks like the elongated jaw of a zombie, tank is flat like splendor ( no hump like streetfighters) ,practical aspect flat tank= less anchorage during cornering. Also, resale value of hornet will be more, since most of people hate xblades design, I've hardly seen xblades in my area, but have seen many 2018 hornets.Originally posted by Bismaya View PostIt's not just that. Conclusion: Those who like something to perform better as a allround package( looks+ cornering+ safety) will go for hornet.
Those who likes something different will go for xblade.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Sales wise, xBlade is really picking up and devouring Hornet's market, which is an actual indication that people are opting for it over Hornet. It may vary with location but I see more xBlades here than Hornet these days.Originally posted by #bpk View PostPillion seat height of hornet is much lower and wider than blade, rear disc is practical, having safety in terms of abs is practical. Let xtreme 200r be available in most of the parts in india, both hornet and xblade will be extinct ! Only people who wants mileage will go for premium 150cc bikes, otherwise people will buy xtreme.Originally posted by Bismaya View PostSales wise, xBlade is really picking up and devouring Hornet's market, which is an actual indication that people are opting for it over Hornet. Nah, I doubt many people will go for the Xtreme here. Hero motorcycles over 125cc are really hard to find here.Originally posted by #bpk View PostLet xtreme 200r be available in most of the parts in india, both hornet and xblade will be extinct ! Looks are subjective my friend. No matter how much you talk about the Hornet's looks, there will be a subset of people who prefer something different or something plain. Some people go for the xblade solely based on the urgent (sort of) power delivery as opposed the gradual power delivery of the hornet. Performance in India is mostly about the power and torque figures, for a lot of people it doesn't matter where the torque and power peak.Originally posted by #bpk View PostIt looks much stronger, performance is also good.
To be honest, Honda woke up late only after seeing the FZ's success (something which they still can't match).Last edited by Shashank K R; 11-09-2018, 12:00 AM.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
True that. There some nice Hero motorcycles which are under rated. Like the Achiever 150. It shares the same engine as the Unicorn and recently, I contemplated on buying a xBlade because Unicorn 160 as discontinued, a friend told me about the Achiever. Took a test ride and I was impressed. It's a better performer than the SZ-RR in city. It may not have aggressive looks or huge power figures but the engine runs like a breeze. I might just buy it whenever I feel like I'm done with the Unicorn.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostPerformance in India is mostly about the power and torque figures, for a lot of people it doesn't matter where the torque and power peak.
