I think it's been a problem ever since the Matte colored models were released. I remember the early 2016 models not being plagued by such issues. Even the Unicorn 160 isn't so much vibey from what I'm from hearing. It sort of feels like the reasons to buy Hornet is decreasing with days.

Funny to see people complaining about motorcycles that are roughly a few thousand KM's old. My P220 only settled down at 10,000 KM's before which there was some niggle or the other, be it gear slips or starter clutch slips.

You guys should be more patient with your motorcycles, after all it is a machine with numerous moving parts inside, do it's no surprise that some rattle and vibrations would pop up at times, just ignore them and ride on, it gets better as the odo read goes up.

The thing about Hornet is that everyone expects it to be a mean, frugal, rough and sporty machine. But in real, it can barely achieve those characters without the engine being tuned to constant running and usage.

The problem is that honda is asking premium price for it. Ok, it doesn't have the power but honda should have given it best in class smoothness. For engine smoothness only i decided to go for honda lets see if refinement levels goes up [emoji1]

Actually recent honda engines are not that smooth. Even rs 200 and ns 200 are more smoother than honda bikes. Actually the reviews in the YouTube by auto experts are fake, honda pays them . I love indian companies like tvs, bajaj etc atleast they give more powerful machines

Exactly even rtr 160 4v which has the highest compression ratio among air/ oilcooled motorcycles gets smooth around just 500 kilometers of running. Even my tvs jupiter is smooth in 500 kilometers before 1st servicing itself. Why honda engines take a lot of time to settle why ?

Get the first service done. Let them tighten the engine mounting nuts, axle nuts, other major fasteners like swing arm pivot, adjust and lube chain. This in itself will reduce vibration. Also, owners, what is the RPM range in which resonance is felt in Hornet? All motorcycles have this and the best way is to stay out of that range while cruising if possible.

Nepal. Borg Warner, huh? SNAP !

His other videos show he is disengaging clutch frequently to coast (probably to take advantage of down gradients) but still that should not make the timing chain break.

What's the cause of it, can you please elaborate. Recently i have also done 80kmph in top gear. My odo is 1400 kilometers, am i harming my motorcycle. (Will it affect my timing chain ) . [emoji22][emoji22]

I don't know the exact cause, but it looks like the owner's fault. His riding style is suitable for sportier motorcycles like R15, cbr150/250 etc and he shouldn't be riding this commuter at such high revs all the time. Also he could have skipped some vital parts and/or servicing out of negligence.

You don't need to worry at all, riding at higher speeds occasionally won't damage your engine at all. Just be diligent about servicing, engine oil change and parts replacement.

Thanks for the reply but he was accompanied by a gixxer sf in front, and gixxer is doing around 100 kmph with a pillion, i think gixxer is far superior in terms of high speed runs than hornet

Today only knew about it and from what I read. That is most precise thing and unlikely to break cause issue. But, who can tell about bad pieces.
