Happens mate, this not anything to worry about.

I have bigger scars from off-roading on my motorcycles. Absolutely not worth spending a premium to get the caliper replaced.

Though on a different note, do consider DIY'ing if you wish to take better care of your motorcycle, the scuffs you see are a result of using improper tools for the job.

It's sad to see those damages. But it's not worth the hassle. Seems to be a minor damage, so let it be there. You can replace it if they are giving it for a nominal amount, which is ok for you. Otherwise save that money for some useful purposes.

Since almost all of the Honda Service centres share a bad reputation, be extra cautious during services. My Hornet, now after 1 year and some 10k kms, is going good. I haven't done anything from ASC other than usual cleaning and oil change (fortunately). And I demanded them to do it as fast as they can, so as to limit the time they can do 'research' on my bike. Regular chain tightening is done from a local mechanic. Periodic lubing kept the chain good.

For repairs, if anything arises, I have to think twice now. Thanks for the inputs.

My friend changed his at about 20.6K. Decent amount of coverage if you ask me. Chain gets loose at about every 800kms so you'll have to get it frequently adjusted.

Is it the first change or the second change you are talking about?? Because one of my friend's pulsar 150 gave him like around 50000 kms without any sprocket change.

In hornet Facebook group some owners have reported about vibration issue in 2018 models. I also feel vibrations, is there any you to reduce them. Since previous models were 2 kilograms heavier (cbs)at (142 kg before aho model), after that honda reduced weight to 140 kilograms for cbs version, i think honda have removed counter balancer to reduce weight, i think this is the cause of vibrationsClick image for larger version

Removing counter balancers are not easy because then the crankshaft has to be heavily remodelled. CG160 Titan has this engine and many have done 60k kms without much problems. You can search Youtube. CG150 Titan and Hero Impulse have counter balancer but Honda removed it on the Unicorn 150/CBZ/Hunk.

If one can replace the collar in Unicorn engine with a balancer drive gear and replace the crankshaft with Impulse, there is a possibilty of adding this balancer to Unicorn 150.

In RTR, Gixxer, FZ, GS and Pulsar, the balancer is a single solid piece that runs "between" or adjacent to the crank. On the CG160 it is two seperate weights. Both designs are common.

If the remove it, Hornet will vibrate even more :-D

Pulsar 150 has a conventional chain that is closed. Hornet had conventional chain that was open, Honda's mistake. They have corrected it now. O-ring sealed chain will have better life if lubed regularly, cleaned and adjusted when necessary.

Change it to the new Hornets kit. Should last longer and no need to keep adjusting it every 500-1000kms.

Thanks Sirji. My Gixxer's first chain kit still had plenty of life when I sold it. Only thing I changed was the front sprocket. I was lucky I guess.
