I got 30 kmpl when I've been touring on 100 to 110 speeds. I think it should be 35 kmpl to the least and the best mileage till date didn't cross 42 kmpl which I received just once. At times the throttle feels jammed or some gummy feeling. I'm planning to change to Motul or Shell 10W40 FS after 7k kms which I'll be attaining probably in a month or 45 days. Please let me know if it's better to use Honda Throttle or go with 10W40 since my commute is mostly stop and go traffic. I feel the heat from engine and think 10W40 Fully Synthetic will be better for heat management rather than 10W30.
I think your carburetor has rich afr setting.

Motul 300v is big no as it is leaks. So I guess you can switch and try whichever works for you.

I am looking to buy chain spray.
        My past experience-
3M was okey, but bit sticky.
WD 40 really opens up everything but can't be used as regular spray.

How is Glossil chain spray in terms of stickiness and how longs it holds?
        Where do you buy kerosene?
Hi Anoop sir, which is the best engine oil for hornet according to you.

From what I have used, Motul 300v which started leaking.
Throttle works well so I am sticking with it. I feel harsh sometimes but I think it just nature of bike.
As, I mentioned, other already given good review of Motul 7100 and 20W50 (I forgot the company name).
Possibility I will try Motul 7100 next time.

P.S. : Don't call me sir. I have little knowledge about bikes

              Haha

In Hyderabad there is nothing. I read in this discussion only, Bangaluru ASC are advising user to use Throttle by 2nd service.
These ASC don't have any clue
BTW, as far guarantee, one this common is, if you use other oil grade than recommended (which is Honda oils) then your warrantee is void.
But, as per say, no one able to identify after running 1000km that, it's whether Honda oil or not .

So, it's better to use as per your local norms. Afterall, mineral oil is bad but recommended and it will brush your engine well. Why to mess up with idiots. You never know when warantee is needed. After a year, you can fill whatever suites you.

Can you share a picture showing the damage if possible ? Yours is CBS? 8k is whooping costly.

I don't think 20W50 would suit characteristics recommended by Honda with winters ahead. So, I'll try Honda Throttle from Service 2 to Service 3. If I feel it better I'll be using it for the rest too. If not will switch to Shell 10W40 FS.

Glossil is good and it's impact lasts like for around 800 kms. It ain't much sticky, I generally clean and spray at night and let the bike rest. Ride definitely feels smooth. I suggest we clean and lubricate every 500 kms here in Hyderabad, if your commute involves bad roads. The amount of dust accumulate after half an hour ride on our face with the visor open itself explains it. My maid uses kerosene in their house for boiling water . She brought around 1/2 ltr in a kinley bottle. I also used Diesel once. It does the job too. I think WD 40 helps in loosening up, but doesn't quiet do a lubrication job. So, didn't give a try.

By the way, I didn't get my chain tightened till date after my purchase, still has the suggested slack after 5k kms, which is a good upgrade from Honda. So, next time you need to replace your chain sprockets, you may give it a try.

Yes, I feel the same, but it is difficult to do it ourselves without unscrewing the side panel and I'm okay to let it give me that mileage till the next service. So, will get it done by the SVC. I've used HP Semi Synthetic 10W30 from 2.5k kms and the ride felt not much different from Honda's mineral oil in bumper to bumper traffic, but the engine feels no stress even after good speeds and higher revs for long time on highways with less to no heat even after several non-stop 250 kms stretches on a highway. So, if you don't do much of bumper to bumper traffic then it can be used. I also suggest you to not change to semi-synthetic anywhere before 3000 kms because from the way you treat your bike, you take it smooth, so using semi-synthetic would obstruct the break in. I needed to shift to semi synthetic at 2500 kms as I had to take it for a long ride and didn't want any discomfort from the engine, but noticed that the mineral oil which was changed at first service was still good to go for at least 1k kms.

Thanks, you should also try , motul 5100 10w 30, semi synthetic oil with ester, it's a good oil, also you can test tvs 10w 30 fully synthetic oil , also you can use yamalube sporty premium 10w 40 fully synthetic oil from yamaha showroom .

I gave my bike for routine servicing at my nearest authorised service centre. I told them to replace the front brake pads as they wear near the wear limit. When I went to collect my bike, I saw that they damaged the front brake caliper body while replacing the brake pads. After a heated discussion, all the service centre agreed was to paint on the damage, I told them that it is totally unacceptable as it is physical damage and I want a replacement.
Later on after placing a complaint through the Honda customer care, the service centre calls me up and tells me that they are willing to give me 20% discount on a new caliper body( Mrp ₹8000 approx) and no labour charge for the replacement. Since my bike is only one and a half a year old and is in good condition I told them to give me atleast 50-60% off, which they didn't agree. They also provided me with an alternate solution, they can claim that damage through the insurance.
I asked them to give me some time to decide. Meanwhile I asked the customer service for the exact policy Honda has for damage during service. They told me that there is no such policy still the customer care team will contact me regarding that.

Please provide your suggestions. I don't want to claim insurance as that would mean i have to leave my bike with them for a week, which I don't prefer given the way they handle the vehicles.

                      Thanking everyone in advance.

Service is going nuts. They just want to paint? Ask the manager where is his car, I would scratch all over and in return I will apply the paint and no labor charge. Would that be considered as compensation?
I see there is no crack. There is no need to change the caliper.
Instead of getting discount on caliper which is waste of money to change, it's better to compensate 30-40% in other parts. Like engine oil or any other thing.

                        Other note:
Here is first strike in my bike. Today I found couple of rust patches on silencer near engine. I have to park my bike outside and it's raining here and there since last month.
How to handle this? Should I go for full painting of silencer or anything simpler can handle it?

If I were you, I would just get a nice cover and put it on not only for the silencer but to prevent any corrosion of other parts.

I have the cover. I used it when it seems raining heavily.
But didn't think that it would rust so easily.
Hunk was lying around for a year and apparently nothing happened.

You should paint the silencer pipes with heat resisitant exhaust spray paint, you'll get in amazon
